What?

Idle curiosity + sacrificial offering to appease the Mod

What do you play EV on? Mac? PC? Which system? Nova plugin?

Me:
Power Mac 7600
132MHz
OS8
1.5G HD
w00t

I have it on my Centris 650 (which I no longer use). Outside of it being in System 7.5.3, I forget the specs.

Nowadays I play on my 400MHz ThinkPad, with 228 MB RAM, and Windows 2000. I'm using Basilisk II for emulation, which gives System 7.5.3 64 MB of RAM.

Yup, these days I'm running EV on Basilisk II on my Mesh Matrix AMD Athlon XP 3200+, 1024MB RAM. Kinda overkill I guess, haha.

I used to play on a Performa 6200-series. Maybe 6300, I don't really remember at this point. Mac OS 7.6 was what it used.

I did get it to run on a Performa 405 though with an external SCSI cartridge drive. Ran extremely slowly, and had no business being on such inferior hardware, but it ran. EVO could run too, but at even worse performance. I always liked the fact that it could run though, as a testament to the game.

These days I don't play EV anymore. I don't own any hardware that can run it anymore.

Played it originally on a horrible Power Computing Mac clone in late 1996... I actually still have that computer somewhere, but as it's horrible I haven't switched it on in at least a year.

My 7600 can't even compete with my G3, but I use it anyway.

I figured more people here played on PCs. I should have made a poll.

I have a G3 500mhz powerbook (the first one with firewire). It runs EV a bit too well, ts overkill for EVO too, but it will run them. It works with nova, but i have to disable some graphics options before large battles.

You are confusing me, Mrxazcka

Lies.

Either Basilisk or the Centris 610 I stole the ROM from.

I originally played Escape Velocity on a Quadra 660av — 25 MHz 68040, 8 MB of RAM. It took about ten minutes to load, and slowed to a crawl if there were more than about ten ships in the system. 🙂
