How about a multiplayer mod for EV? Maybe through Nova, or maybe it's own separate program? Possibly (if anyone's ever been there) like what Centerfleet.com used to do (strictly online, no client to download)? What's the interest in this? What do you all think? Maybe if there's enough interest, I will start cracking down on my C++ skills and work on it for you all? Of course, this will only be able to be released as an Escape Velocity game with Ambrosia's permission...hey, moderators/officials, what do you think? Out.

This has been asked thousands of times. If a multi-player version of EV was created, it just wouldn't be Escape Velocity. It would be a totally different beast.
Now, rather than just lock it and be done with it, I just have to add this:

None of the moderators, as far as I know, are representatives of Ambrosia's opinions on legal matters such as this. We have the power to moderate these boards on behalf of Ambrosia, but that is where our power ends. Sure, I'm fine with you trying to make a program like this, and even if absolutely every other moderator agreed, that doesn't mean anything; andrew could still say "no" and that would be that.
Now, if you do want to make a program like this, by all means, make the attempt. I will say up front, though, that an independent project like that wouldn't have a place on the EV/EVO/EVN boards; if anything, topics on the game would belong on Just Games. Its not that I don't want to read topics on your game, its just that, by definition, it would be spam here.
