Today I was walking into town (in belfast*) and I was absent mindedly whistling a tune. After a while, I realised it was the EV start up music. This is worrying, as I haven't heard it in at least 2 years. :eek: It's always turned off in preferences, so I'm not sure why I remember it.
That said, it's nice than the Halo music.
And I always think 'EV' when people talk about the space shuttle. I am sad.
*I'm on holiday. Yay me.

Okay, I got it.
When I first installed the EV mod for Nova, I was convinced they had changed the startup music. That's how long it's been since I heard it!
Of course, the next time I booted it up, I remembered that it was the original music. I was probably thinking of one of the billions of TCs I must have installed when I had that game.

Anyone know the name of this song? I remember someone posted it on the Nova board, and it was something of Mars, if I remember correctly... I heard it once on ESPN, before the Superbowl, when they were talking about the Bucs defense. I jumped up and yelled "Thats the EV music!!!!" And no one knew what I was talking about. Ah well.

I'm terrible for getting songs stuck in my head. I can have the same song stuck in my head all day, and I'll either whistle it or mouth the words. Both annoy people a lot, but I don't realize I'm doing it until I get told I am. Strange, but that's me.

People here are talking about the music for the original EV, not EVN. I don't know if the EV music was named, but the EVN music is Mars from Holst's (i)Planets{/i).

If I remember correctly, there is an old movie called Gideon's Trumpet in which the music of the first EV is played. The movie is a true story about this old guy named Gideon who was arrested and spent years fighting in courts to get his case re-examined. This guy's case directly led to the guarantee of legal representation in the event that you cannot provide your own. He was arrested and jailed for 5 years after he was forced to defend himself in court for a crime he didn't commit. Good movie, and worth a once-through to get educated on some important legal rights history and to find out the name of the EV song.
