I'm not saying that you can only have 1 unique ship. All I said was that I had 1 unique ship. Ipvicus's word goes, though but if there are to many of these "homebrew" warships flying around, then the ships in the real EV universe will be different. For example, if that Pirate Carrier works and is used, then it could possibly evolve into a modern carrier. This would make them much more powerful, causing possibly a "Space Age Ghengas Khan", with brutal pirates conquering the universe, which is not much like pirates as we know them: loose bands of scum. I'm not trying to glorify myself here or anything like that, but my unique ship, the Bear Carrier, is a modified light freighter, which is widely available even at that time. And Luke's Frigate predecessor would utilize the afformentioned evolution to turn into the Fed Frigate. Anyway, i'm just saying that if you are going to have homebrewn ships, it would be best to explain how they became obsolete, how they where all destroyed, how they evolved into more modern ships, or whatever to avoid a change in history.

The very premise of this webstory, Ambassador, verges on altering history throughout the webstory. What if the Aliens win the battle or the humans are so strong by the time they do attack that the aliens are annihilated? There is no real way to make this webstory follow preset EV history exactly.
As for the ships, I could easily say that my designs evolve into the Corvette or Kestrel. My fighter could be a lightning (which I believe already exists in this webstory), just with a different name and modified weaponry. <shrugs> I might not even like the forming of the Confederation and might fight against it, which would obviously lead to my destruction and thus the loss of the designs (though I won't let that happen too easily ;)).
The FRTC is certainly opposed to the formation of the Confederation, Carnotaur. Fear not for your life if you stand together with the Federal Republic in opposition.
The following is the public information regarding the Federal Republic of Tau Ceti. In webstory terms, it's not particularly useful, but it's all the information that I'm willing to show to the players of this story - the rest is confidential and will be included in an email to Ipvicus on Saturday.
Public Database of the Federal Republic of Tau Ceti
The Federal Republic of Tau Ceti, the territories of which include the solar systems of Tau Ceti, Antares, Pollux as maintained colonies and Diphidia, Mentos, Castor, Sirius, Alcyon and Vega as solar systems under Federal law, is an economically powerful nation situated roughly galactically southwest of the birthplace of humanity. Below are known facts regarding the Federal Republic, although be it noted that due to their isolationist policies, tight security measures and unwillingness to participate in demographic surveys, all information supplied here is unconfirmed.
Diplomatic Relations
While the Federal Republic has, in the past, been involved in numerous militant operations, most notably the Battle of New Tokyo which came to an end eight months prior to the publishing of this document, after 46 days of intense fighting across the surface of, and in high orbit of, New Japan, which finally ended due to the deployment of a thermonuclear warhead over the capital city of the opposition (New Tokyo) from the FRTC starship "Archangel." The Republic has been criticised for its actions in this battle, but has so far issued no statement supporting the measures taken by its own armed forces. On the whole, interest in the middle seems minimal.
Currently, the Federal Republic is involved in no open military operations with any other nation in the known galaxy. Relations with its neighbours are strained, and it has been suggested that the Territorial Law issued by the Administrative Office of the Federal Republic may cause diplomatic problems, although it is unlikely that relations would deteriorate to the point that the FRTC would be placed in a situation of war.
Recently, the current president of the Federal Republic of Tau Ceti, Alexander Rosse, has issued a statement since made public that relations with other nations are "on the agenda" and that diplomatic contact will be made "as soon as is conveniently possible." Whether this is likely to occur, what will come of diplomatic contact, and what exactly Rosse intends by diplomatic contact, is currently unknown.
Demographics
Mostly unknown. Population estimated in the region of 4.5 billion as of 60 years ago. Agnosticism and atheism seem to be popular amongst the population, and no one religion seems to be most prominent - although once again, information is lacking.
Government
Authoritarian Republic, neither right-wing nor left (economic freedoms are non-existent, all private industry is banned, and civil rights are also lacking in comparison to other nations.) Sources seem to suggest that there is no freedom of the press. Presidential elections occur once every four years, and there are unsubstantiated claims that to be elligible for voting a citizen must pass both an intelligence test and an examination into the person's mental health. The latter is issued by the National Department of Health, and it has been suggested that management in the NDH is mostly directed by the Administrative Office. There are numerous political parties, although policies seem to have changed little in the last few decades despite five very different parties holding the presidency in the last 30 years.
Economy
The economy of the FRTC is another area in which little is known. It has been suggested that a large proportion of the population live in a state of "economic slavery", where they have the choice between extremely trying occupations with low pay, or starving. Once again, these claims are unsubstantiated and from a single source, whose identity is protected. It certainly seems that the nation is geared towards productivity.
Military
The Federal Republic of Tau Ceti possesses a considerable number of thermonuclear weapons. The range of some of these is estimated at around 20,000 kilometres - and the payload of the most powerful believed to be powerful enough to incinerate a thriving city and its distrada and cause a virtual nuclear holocaust across an entire continent. They have also demonstrated a willingness to use nuclear weapons, although they have never, in their entire history, employed a scorched earth policy on an entire planet or launched any of the more powerful nuclear weapons they are believed to possess.
There are also rumours that the Federal Republic has some form of major anti-matter project currently underway, but it was impossible to find any details on this.
As for its navy, there are reported at least eight military starships in the FRTC. The statistics of these starships are unclear, although it is believed that they vary from ship to ship. As for any lighter vessels, there are no reports on such vessels. The Federal Republic also commands a large number of bulk and light freighters amongst smaller transport craft and an even larger number of decommisioned intrastellar craft.
Territorial Law
1. Territorial Law applies to all vessels in any of the following systems:- Tau Ceti, Antares, Pollux, Castor, Mentos, Diphidia, Sirius, Alcyon and Vega. Further extensions to FRTC territory may be made at any time.
2. Any vessel opening fire on a Federal Republic craft, or using any device which damages a Federal Republic craft, disrupts sensors or any other systems, will be classified as an Enemy craft immediately. This classification will remain indefinately.
3. Any vessel opening fire on another independant vessel in Federal Republic territory, that causes considerable damage (20% of the vessel's shields or structural integrity), will be classified as an Enemy craft. Upon leaving FR territory, all IFF systems will be reset for that vessel.
4. Any vessel bearing the mark of a government vessel that opens fire on a Federal Republic craft, or uses any device which damages a Federal Republic craft, disrupts sensors or any other systems, will be classified as an Enemy craft immediately and indefinately. All vessels bearing the mark of that government will be classified as Enemy but not be pursued out of FR territory. If said government does not explain the actions of said vessel within 100 (standard Earth) hours, further military action may be taken.
5. No vessel or individual may send a message from inside Federal Republic space to any other system, inside or outside of the border. Offenders will be required to reveal the contents of said message, and their vessel and computer may be searched. Repeated offenders, or any who refuse to reveal the contents of said message, will be classified as an Enemy craft. Government response as outlined in #4 stand. Any messages which need to be sent must be sent to a relay satellite and may be monitored.
6. The Federal Republic may only search an independant craft or its computer under the condition outlined in #5 or if: said vessel operated out of an illegal port within Federal Republic space; said vessel is emitting atypical energy signatures; said vessel is suspected of further violations of Territorial or Federal Law.
7. Governments may not transport any commodities in excess of 200 tons per standard Earth week through Federal Republic space without prior permission. Nations violating this must be aware of the possibility of military response.
8. Any vessel that does not identify itself after being hailed by an FRTC craft may be classified as an Enemy craft at the captain's discretion. Any vessel with damage to their communication systems is advised to remain out of FRTC space, or power down and come to a complete halt upon entering said space.
9. Any vessel which powers down shields, weaponry, engines and all non-vital systems may not be fired upon by any vessel in Federal Republic space under any conditions, including the navy.

Nice laws. Those are vauge but straight forward. I dont know what i just sayed. Anyway, We need to start this soon. if we dont start within the month of may im leaveing. Its just i dont have the time to wait for something that will take most of my free time.
