You're correct. They destroyed every ship in the system. Since the only ship in the system was a Rebel Manta, they destroyed one manta. I would hardly call that a one post battle (heck, I'd hardly consider it a "battle" at all).

I had a fleet in the system, not the Rebels (though there WAS a Rebel Firebird present).

I had a whole freakin fleet in that system, not to mention one of Stardust's Firebirds. I did NOT jump out, and I have no idea how you got such a crazy idea.
