I feel it is time for another webstory.
Rules: Keep within Standered EV rules. No one post battles. You have to use escape pods.

Sounds good to me, though everyoneshould have a FAR smaller budget:
Confeds: 20 million/round Rebels: 10 million/round Pirates- no unified gov't each "prince" gets one or two of the pirate planets and a budget of 1 million plus whatever he can plunder (see below) Everyone else- 500,000 a round per stellar (start with one or two independant stellars) plus trade, plundering, etc.
Plundering: If you are a pirate, you can plunder. Determined how later on. Ship-based? Convoy raiding? If you are a pirate, you are automatically hated by everyone except your allies.
Here are my suggested ship guidelines for getting ships:
Ship prices (modified to make sense) General: Shuttlecraft: 10,000 credits, 20 tons of cargo Scoutships: 100,000, 40 tons Defenders: 100,000 LFS: 300,000, 150 tons Clippers: 400,000, 35 tons Couriers: 150,000, 50 tons Argosies: 750,000, 100 tons Rpirs/Ltnings: 1,000,000 Corvettes: 2.5 mil, 60 tons Kestrels: 10 mil, 80 tons
Confed/Rebel These governments can build their own ships, so they're cheaper. They can sell them to their allies. Confed-
Patrol Ship: 200,000 Gunboat: 350,000 Frigate: 6.5 mil, 50 tons cargo space Cruiser: 15 mil, 75 tons B. Freighter: 1,000,000, 500 tons (can be contracted and built by other govt's allied with the feds or reverse-engineered)
Rebel:
Manta: 200,000 Destroyer: 5 mil, 30 tons cargo space Cruiser: 11.5 mil, 60 tons No escort carriers... unless any governments decide to build them
Pirates, Independents, etc can capture ships as pertaining to rules "we make up."
We can make the rest up as we go along, I guess.

Beeblebrox, since you're commander-general, you're in control of fleet resources and would have a budget more in the 20 millions range.
In any case, we have enough people, although mare people may join if they want, just piloting a ship or controlling a planet.
Let round one begin.
Money: 10 million credits Income: 2 million credits from mining and metal/mineral sales.
The Company awoke. Not that it ever slept, no, for Astex was always working, the mining plants extracting minerals from the rocks they were in, the frieghters making their ponderous ways between the stars, the various workers doing their jobs. But, now that the computers at Liberty Station had been linked through the ether-net with the rest of the corporate computers, something became complete. Each computer forming part of the whole, like mindless ants in a huge ant colony. And, like an ant colony, the actions of every nonintellegent part showed that there was... something... thinking other than any one individual, be it the CEO, the ship captain, or the coffee machine. It expressed itself through the actions of the board of directors, through the set routines of the robotic asteroid harvesters, through the thousands of workers who wrote memos and coded the subroutines. The will of those who controlled Astex was the will of the company was the will of the investors was the will of the owners was the will of the Confederation of Sol was the will of the galactic congress was the will of the planetary rerpresentatives was the will of the companies on those planets...
Anyway, through metal harvesting Astex gains 2 mil this round.

Very little pirate activity in NGC-1776 and nearby systems. No reported connection to so-called 'King DeadBeat' as far as we know. USS Farragut, stationed at Liberty Starport, is patrolling the system unless it is recalled by the Confederacy.

i think you are rushing this a bit. you havn't even apointed a mod yet. and no one seems to want to find out just how many turrets , cannons, and torpedos they can have. while i support the idea of another webstory, i do not support starting it with such rough rules/stats. put another day into organizing things. i can see right now that without doing so there will be angry people with nothing else to do but argue. make everything clear so there will only be minor arguing. you dont have to agree with what ive said. i just thought id make a suggestion. (if you take no other advise from me, just get a mod.)

The Confederation are almost ready for a strike on Turin V. Warships are fully assembled and are making the jump to Yemuro. Freighters have been bringing armaments to New Instanbul to be installed on the ships. This should be one of the Confed's more successful attacks in recent years.

Astex, you're request for mining rights on Tau Ceti IV have been approved. The mining rights will cost you 450,000 credits a round. It may seem expensive but the minerals of Tau Ceti are not something we will give away cheaply.
In regards to your request for 2 Bulk Freighters. I am sorry to say we can only offer you one at this time. All our resources are being taken up on this strike. The Rebellion are placing more and more ships in the system and we need as many back-ups as possible. We can offer you one Bulk Freighter and one Light Freighter for the good price of 1,2000,000
I agree with U.E. Admiral, a set of rules should be posted before the first round starts.
Okay, let me try to set some rules.
Standard EV rules. No strange new weapons, no ships from EVN. You must be of a standard EV side eg. Confeds, Rebels, Pirates, Astex, Huron etc. Do not just post a battle yourself. Escape pods must be used.
Stats for ships: Cruisers : Max Guns:8 Max Turrets:4 Max Rocket Launchers:4 Max Torp. Launchers:3 Max Rockets:100 Max Torps.:80
Light Ships (Confed Gunboats, Defender, Manta, Lightning etc.: Max Guns:2 Max Turrets:1 Max Rocket Launchers:2 Max Torp. Launchers:1 Max Rockets:40 Max Torps.:30
