I and my six year old son have become fans of EV Nova. We went off exploring and earned 50 million credits so we could try out different ships. We've been using a Star Bridge lately and have been fighting pirates. Along the way we became good citizens of the rebel side with a rating of deadly. I guess this happened because we helped out some rebels who were attacked by federation ships once the pirates were gone.
The reason I'm writing is that my boy is growing a tad restless with fighting all the time. We decided to try and find the route to the area south of the Aurorans (we saw that there was a system down there in a different pilot incarnation). He became restless with earning the 50 million and now I'd like to find a new exploration trip but we have been around the red purple and blue a couple times and cannot find a way out. The worm hole is always so crowded with battles that we havn't even been able to find it lately. We are down to 32 million credits and I figure we should explore around for something else to do before going back to slog out another batch of credits.
I realize this game is a violence based game in theory. My son does not watch TV and so he has not yet become trained to the American system of violence and world economic piracy, or our class system. He is young enough to enjoy the game and be interested in exploring the ship yards and attempting to communicate with passing ships and this game does not have disturbing graphic violence so I figure we might as well enjoy it as long as we can.
My question is whether to look for another game or keep looking for a new area to explore. Our ship could be sold and we could load up with batteries and solar panels instead of weapons.

PS > We have four medium blasters, a turret, and use hellhound rockets. We have also tried out hiring escorts and using the rockets to soften up targets before sending the escorts in. With both of us pushing buttons like crazy we can defeat two manticors, and a few other ships. We have not yet learned to avoid sudden destruction from fast moving ships with the blue beam.

That is the EV: Nova board. This is the EV: Classic board. But, if you wait, I'm sure a moderator will move this topic for you. Stick with this game, but try out different ships. There is always more to explore. (You can join each government, for instance.)
