I was searching in the resources for the EV application and saw the Cap'n Hector Quotes and one of them was "Prepare to Die Shareware Pirate." or something like that. So I was wondering can Cap'n Hector attack you. If yes than why is it for not payin your shareware fee and if it is than how long must you go without paying your shareware fee before you get attacked.

No doubt. Im not firmilar with C programming though
While player ships cannot be made indestructible, you can make it pretty damn close. Just use EV-Edit to change the shields and armor of a shuttle to 1000 each and set the shield recharge rate to one. You will take damage, but it will regenerate so fast that you can't tell you've been hit.
Oh yeah, I had EV for two-and-a-half years before registering, and Hector never attacked me. I guess she likes me.

Hmmm, for some reason when I dled the game it said I had using it for 2000 days.....and that was the first time I tried it. Even though it says this though, Hector doesn't do anything to me but scream his lungs out telling me to register. (Hmmm.....the plot thickens.)
Cap'n Hector's attacking in Escape Velocity depends not only upon the number of days you've had the game, but also the number of hours you've played.

Sorry, Soveitt Mikkee I didn't mean to sound like that I'm just planning on making a plug-in that has invincable people. Besides I would register it if it was the newest version but I can't download EV nova for the fact that our P.C isn't emulated and I don't have a C.D burner to transfer the download to my computer (a mac). and my computer doesn't have the internet because I'm not allowed. So it would have to be small enough to fit on a floppy disk. Too bad for me I can't find a CD package that includes it. I got Ev from a Macworld subscription.

You have to understand that EV, EV Override, and EV Nova aren't 3 versions of one game. They're all seperate titles in the EV trilogy. If you're going to play EV, you need to pay for EV. If you're going to play EV:N, you need to play for EV:N. think of it in the same sense as the Quake Series. Buying Quake 3: Arena in no way entitles you to a copy of Quake 2. Continuing to play EV without registering it means that you're pirating the game, plain and simple. Making that fact known on the board here isn't the greatest way to ensure your privilege to post here. I'd recomend that you pay for the game as soon as possible. The one exception to these rules, I believe, was the Override instalment which allowed people to pay a reduced 'upgrade' fee when purchasing override if they had already purchased a copy of EV. I'm not sure if Ambrosia still offers that deal but it wouldn't be very hard for you to find out.
As for EV:N on CD, Ambrosia Software sells a CD for a few bucks that has unregistered copies of all their shareware products on it. This saves some people with slower modems or a lack of connectivity the hassles involved with moving Ambrosia products onto their computers.You could look into that if you really want a copy of EV:N.

Edit: Okay. I did some checking up on the information above. Ambrosia's latest Shareware CD DOES include EV:Nova. As for the old Overrride upgrade, it doesn't exist any more. The shareware fee of $25 applies to any copy of Override you purchase.

Can't you make a ships shields and armor -1? That's what Cap'n'Hector uses.

I'm not sure what you mean by shields and armor but the weapons you can give a person can be -1 that just means to just use the weapons the ships come with.
