How many people have a Kestrel and is actually good at playing with it?

I had one once, when I couldn't get to a nice outfitting place, because I was playing Confed, and they hated me. After awhile, I was okay, but then I upgraded (yes, I mean that) to a Frigate. Then I bought a nice Confederate Cruiser, and a second. Kestrel is good for making money, though. Stealing and selling Lightnings...

I'm decent at it when it has the proper speed upgrades. It doesn't have the mobility of the Corvette or Rebel Destroyer (my two favorite all-around ships), but it's still quite fun to fly, and quite useful when you need that extra civilian firepower. I also like to imagine that the Kestrel has, of all the ships in the game, the nicest interior - like real wood trim, carpeted officers' quarters, tiled bathrooms, and so on. Um, yeah.

Kestrel's ok. I like that it can hold a lot of turrets and cannons and other outfits. Though I prefer the vette to it(as a civillian ship, gov't I like the reb destroyer and cruiser).

Well the kestral stinks compared to a Defender because i couldnt kill the Alien Cruiser with a kestral but with the defender.. well that is a difrent story.

Obviously you havn't tried an unarmed shuttlecraft. "Kamikazee! BOOM!" They're ship is gone and you're piloting your escape pod to the nearest system.

i think we've all piloted a Kestrel before. i loved it myself. great look, great power, acceptable speed and mobility when upgraded. i killed the Alien Cruiser on my first attempt with one. i wouldn't think of taking a vette over a Kestrel(but there are few to none that agree with me).

Why does everybody seem to prefer things like corvettes, destroyers, and confed-cruisers over things that seem (From the statistics) to be outdated compared to the rebel cruiser and kestrel. I'm really confused.....Is it because of mobility? Cargo space? Weapon space???

i love the Kestrel. I have had more experiance with it than any other ship.I havent played to much with the other ships to take an perferance but i like the Kestrel. I have killed everyship out there with it. Even matt Burch.
How many Ambrosia-personels are there? I've seen 6, killed 5. (Didn't kill Matt Burch, didn't try.)
I like the Kestrel - it has the best fighters in the game. I fly a Rebel Cruiser right now... Its a better ship but the Mantas suck.
Of course I have all the upgrades in both cases,

I've had them. They can be good, but you absolutely need speed upgrades. Once you have some, you can do well, but without a decent turn upgrade and engine upgrade, you're going to be moving pretty slowly.
