I like the Shuttlecraft. But I'd only prefer the Shuttlecraft over a Defender. All other ships are better, in my opinion.

LOL. On one of my pilots, (I had numerous, a lot of them screwed up when I took off plug-ins :p) I saved up doing Rush Deliveries on my shuttle till I got a kestrel. No joke. I also went pirate style on my shuttle, double proton cannons was it? Anyways, I could take out scoutships and light freighters well hehe

I never got rig of my shuttle craft un till i had to go up agenst the aleians then i got a defender and kestrel escourts so i whooped their @$$ i just stayed away from the seeker drones and heavy fusion beams and let my escorts take on the fighters.

I like the figure and shape of the shuttle craft. But it isn't that great of a ship. You can't really attack, not much fuel, not much space for weapons, not much space for delivering supplies. I usually just do "rush" missions with the shutttlecraft and then when i have enough credits, by a frighter (i am not exactly sure of the exact name), get tons of money doing rush missions or regular missions with that, then when i have enough money, get a rapier. Then join confederate or rebellion.
The shuttle craft looks like a cheese grater, thats what me and my freind always call it. I always go from that to a light freighter to a kestrel.

Funny...a while back I created a pilot file called "The Creator" and used it to put every possible weapon in EVGE on my ship...of course, after a while that wasn't fun anymore and I haven't cheated (in that sense anyway) since.

Yeah...for some reason EV adds your ship speed to the speed of cannon bolts, but not to turret (or front-quadrant turret) bolts.
Not only that, because of the quirk in the EV weapon damage formula (/2 instead of /4), the laser cannon actually does more damage than the proton cannon when their reload rates are considered. I discovered a couple weeks ago that EVGE fixed this though.

Heh. Those first few months with EV find you having fun doing those deliveries. Strangely enough, I didn't start not-getting-as-much-fun-out-of-EV-ing until after I learned the monty python. Fighting like the AI does it is so much more fun. (Well, now it's not so bad because I can do the circling technique, which is more difficult than MP but at least gives the AI a chance).
