I'm flying a Rapier, and the "player info" box says I have a rear laser turret. It doesn't fire, even whan something is targeted. What's the deal? (I swear, this is the last question I'm asking )

It only fires to the rear. Have a targeted enemy behind you and press your primary trigger. It's pretty useless though

Any way to get rid of it? probably not, right? (these don't count)
I have now gotten it to fire, but...still, no purpose in having it
Yeah, turrets are only good in twos. Buy a 'Vette.
I dunno, after a while it gets fun to play ships in their stock condition...
I actually find it kind of realistic that at least something on a ship is hard-wired into it.

ResEdit. That is, it would be possible to edit the game resources or make a plug-in that would allow the Rapier's rear turret to be sold - short of that, you're stuck with it as long as you keep the Rapier.
