Still, the two million to capture a Rebel world would be helpful if the price was worth it. As yet Shade still couldn't decide. "Keri, what's our funding like?" he called. "Now, to organise a fleet to defend Diphidia " Shade opened the financial statistics and the shipyard links, and began to think. Eventually, he decided upon a good force; 6 Athenas at 18.12 Million total 3 Artemis at 12 Million total 50 Rapiers at 11.9 Million total Which is a total of 42.02, leaving a total of 89.98. That done, Shade decided to supplement the Assault Fleet in Diphidia with ten Artemis, a total of 40 million, bringing reserves down to 49.98. The ten Artemis set off for Diphidia along with the new defence fleet.
Diphidia now had a defence fleet of 3 Artemis, 6 Athenas, and 50 Rapiers. The Assault Fleet, currently in Diphidian orbit, was now up to ten Artemis, nine Athenas, six Kestrels, five Corvettes, ten Lightnings, and nineteen Rapiers.
Despite the recent influx of credits, Shade wasn't as happy as he could be. The Olympian Solidarity, although it was doing well, could be doing better; they needed more sources of revenue. Perhaps something would come up

Shade watched the reports stream in. The RSIA had put a 30M credit bounty on a Rebel warfleet in Clotho; as yet, Shade didn't have enough data on that fleet to make a decision. Certain other things, however, he could decide on; it was time to expand in the Southern theatre. The Assault Fleet was ordered to move.

The Assault Fleet dropped into the Guiron system, ready for battle; ten Artemis, nine Athenas, six Kestrels, five Corvettes, ten Lightnings, and nineteen Rapiers. In response were fifteen Rebel Destroyers and thirty Mantas, lifting from the surface of Akio. The Mantas lifted first, flying into the hail of torpedos and missiles unleashed by the Solidarity ships. With each Solidarity warship - Artemises, Athenas, Kestrels, and Corvettes - focusing fire upon a single Manta, it didn't take long for the flimsy triangular craft to one by one burst into flames. Their missiles still managed to take down two Corvettes however. Then came the slower Destroyers, who launched their missiles as they flew into the near-continual barrage of torpedos. Five were destroyed by the torpedo barrage alone, but managed to take down a Kestrel. Then the Solidarity fighters joined in, strafing the Destroyers with Heavy Rockets and Proton fire. Another two Destroyers went down, and took with them a pair of Lightnings and a Rapier. Finally the remaining eight Destroyers reached primary weapons range, and began to fire with their Proton turrets and Heavy Rockets. It was here that the advantages of the Artemises showed; with heavy shielding and no less than six Proton turrets, they were almost perfect for close engagements. And all this time the torpedo and missile barrage continued; the Destroyers only managed to down one Kestrel before they were destroyed. There would be no giant turtles descending from the heavens to save Akio today; the world was firml within the grasp of the Olympian Solidarity.

Infuriated by the recent attacks on Guiron and Zigra, Jimbob called up the Olypian Soliditary leader and left this message- "Congratulations. You are now considered an enemy to the Rebellion and affiliated with the Confederation."
This was not what Jimbob needed. The war in Yumero was prying on his mind, and the loss of more southern planets really pissed him off. He began another attack sequence which started with the retreated ships that fell out of range meeting with the reinforcements. A huge barrage of torpedos was fired and it saild across the sky with a yellow glow. The MkII's, Frigates, and most prowlers were no more. The corvette count also greatly dropped. Pleased with this success, Jimbob ordered the destroyers and deployed Mantas to charge with torpedo fire cover. The Mantas began launching the missles, and the Gunboats and patrol ships were being hammered. With that going on, Jimbob focused his attention to the Levo ships. This battle would have been won a time ago and the Rebels would control the north had it not been for them. The cruisers then fired missles and a few torpedos at the Argosies, while the warbirds shot missles at the Rapiers and began some up close combat. The Destroyers and Mantas got most of the Confederate fighters out of the game, and the Levo Rapiers had taken a heavy beating, While the Argosies got hammered.

President Eagle walked on to the bridge a little later then normal. He'd been up the night before going over intelligence reports and trying to assess the UMG's current situation. The first action of the day was to rename BattleGroup1 to UMG Omega Force. While reading through his cabinet's reports over a cup of hot mocha, he noticed that the treasury reported 100M has been raised in taxes and added to the current naval account, now standing at 101.068M. Pleased with his reports, he decided to look over the morning's assessments.

In a matter of hours the UMG fleet entered an empty Kathoon system. Upon retaking the control center on the surface, the citizens of Kathoon rejoiced in seeing their 'saviors' as they labeled us. Apparently during the Rebellion's and Spl_Cadets short tenure, the planet had been raided and looted for anything valuable or that may help benefit them. It became clear that the UMG's foes were not only radical.. but they were also monstrous.
This war has new meaning... and these autoricities will not go unscathed.

High above the Clotho system, the mercenary fleet left hyperspace, intent on their new commision. Surprising their former clients, the two Stark-class missile boats began raining missiles upon the Warbirds while the Rapiers split into two groups (each with 100 Mosquitos as cover)and attacked the main part of the fleet, 50 going after the cruisers and another 50 hitting the destroyers. The results were horrific. Three cruisers exploded under a concentration of torpedo fire, along with 5 destroyers. Of the Warbirds, four exploded with the rest taking heavy damage from the hundreds of missiles released by the missile boats, which retreated when out of ammo. As the Rapiers turned around for a second attack run, the covering Mosquitos strafed the Rebel ships, destroying two more destroyers and three of the crippled Warbirds. However, the surviving hundred Mantas launched a counter-attack upon one of the Rapier groups. Over a dozen Rapiers died before the Lightnings punched whole in the Manta group, a whole exploited by the 200 Mosquitos that hadn't been strafing the ships. Of the 100 Mantas that launched, only two dozen returned to the fleet. The battered Rebel fleet began withdrawing towards Clotho Prime as the mercenary fleet steadily followed in a defensive formation.

Nick was happy that his income came in, he saw he had 140M to spend. He decided to spend 40M on the defense fleets for the 2 planets he captured. This consisted of 114 Tigersharks each. 66M he spent researching the Ares Class Battlecarrier, and he purchased one such vessel for 22M. He moved his operations to that vessel, and ordered division 1 to regroup at Propus. With that taken care of, his ships hypered into the Zaxted system.

The attack was not a total surprise to the Zaxted defense fleet, which consisted of 336 Rapiers, but it still took a short time to scramble together,then they charged. Nick knew that the rapiers were slow, so he ordered the fleet to pull back slightly and let the corvettes dance around them firing missiles. The slow rapiers were totally outmatched by that tactic, and tried desperately to escape. A group of 40 of them broke off and reached the ares carrier, but they were met by an unpleasant surprise. As the Rapiers unloaded their heavy rockets, 24 of the 40 hit. But, on their pass over, things turned ugly. the 16 proton turrets on the carrier blazed, and it fired rockets out of all 4 tubes and missiles from both racks. This brute power destroyed 17 of the rapiers on the first pass, and it was down to only 70% shields. The rapiers saw that it was useless, and tried to run, but the missiles from the other capitals in the fleet quickly decimated them.
During this time, the corvettes had run out of missiles, but had destroyed 126 more rapiers in the process, and losing only 2 corvettes due to their vast maneuverabilty over the rapiers. After this, the corvettes sped back to the waiting fleet. Then, the entire fleet closed in slowly. The rapiers were too slow to be able to outposition the fleet, so they had no choice but to mount a frontal charge themselves. As they came in, missile fire destroyed 50 more rapiers The ensuing heavy rocket fire on the first pas was devastating to both sides. Most of Nick's capitals were taken down to 50% shields or lower, and 5 corvettes had been destroyed. However, it was as deadly for the defenders. Proton fire, missiles, and a shower of proton fire cause another 70 to be destroyed. On the second pass, their firepower greatly reduced, the rapiers did far less damage, only destroying only 4 more corvettes and 1 Confed Frigate. For the rapiers, however, there was no escape. The 3 remaining after the pass fled into hyperspace.

OOC: Sorry Jimbob, but there is so much wrong with that post I feel I'll need to change some things about it in my reply, you didn't even get my fleet numbers right. Let's see which on Ne Demord Jamais thinks is more realistic. --------------------------------------------
When the reenforced Rebel fleet came withing weapons range and began launching torpedoes they were immeditaly met with a reply from the Confederate fleet. As the Rebel Destroyers and Warbirds launched torpedoes at the slower Fed Cruisers, Ipvicus' fleet replied in kind as Gunboats, Patrol ships, and Corvettes concentrated their missile fire on the closest Destroyers; they were able to take several out before they could get off a second salvo. The Confederate Cruisers, Frigates and Levoan Rapiers, however concentrated their own torpeado fire on the Rebel Cruisers, destroying 2 and diableing 3 more. As damaging as the Rebel topedo barrage had been its affect had been reduced by the fact that a little over half of the Rebel ships had already severly depleted their ammo stores in the last few battles. Despite this, the already damaged R.N.S. Defiant and another cruiser newly arrived from Turin were completely destroyed and the other two Cruisers were still taking damage.
When the Rebel Mantas came forward from the rest of the fleet and began to engage the Confederate Fighter Screen they were met once again with the fierce resistange of the 181st, this time backed up by Levoan Corvettes and Rapiers. The fighter battle raged on while the Rebel Capitol ships moved in to finish off the two Remaining Confederate Cruisers. The Rebels soon found out that, even when outnumbered the Mk.II Cruiser was not easy prey. As two Rebel Cruisers tried to close within turret range they were stopped in their tracks by the particle beam fire and nearly cut in half. Now working in concert the Enterprise and the R.N.S. Hood as well as the two surviving Frigates were laying waste to the Rebel capitals that were trying to surround and destroy them. When a squad of Destroyers massed to attempt and make a torpedo run on the belaguard Cruisers they were suddenly beset by the 6 Prowler Corvettes that had managed, with their outstanding speed, to evade the initial guided terror unleashed by the Rebels. Fireing heavy rockets and emptying spacebombs the Prowlers descimated the Rebel Destroyers.
By this time the entire battle had turned into a bloody mass of carnage, through sheer mass of numbers the Rebel's were finally wearing down the Confederate fleet. Hit repeatedly by the massive fire of the Rebel Cruisers and Warbirds surrounding it the R.N.S. Hood floated dead in space, and the Rebel fleet was closeing in to finish off the Enterprise. All this changed however when Battle Group Three, who had rushed at flank speed from Capella finally arrived. Breaking up the the Rebel formation Battle Group Three jumped in right on top of the Enterprise. Rallying behing the new reenforcements the confed fleet forced the Rebels back inflicting heavy losses. Marshal Ipvicus slowley raised himself of the deck and looked around. his bridge was a mess, wires and tubing hung from the ceiling and and bulkeds were crumpled under the massive strain from the Rebel attacks. Within the hour Admiral Ariels fleet based in Matar will arrive with 6 Cruiser Mk.IIs and a host of support ships... I beg of you, save the lives of your remaining men and leave this battle. Alan Rak was pleased with the way the war with the terrorists was going. Although they had scored heavily against the bad fleet commanders of the Northern divisions, new fleet resources were being produced to smash back their lines. Meanwhile, in the South, the Rebel Empire had eroded into little but a few assorted colonies. It was able to dwindle down further. Rak had ordered a large reinforcement fleet for himself, and he received it with pride. Many of these young men and women were now being sent off to annex Rebel colonies.
Before Rak started his major offensive action, he decided to examine his financial information, check his communications unit and post updated public notices, and organize his new star vessels. As he checked his financial statement he was very pleased. An ordered from the Republic of Levo had endowed him with a small fortune.

Jager was walking down the main road of the captail of Levo wondering what ships he should put into his new fleet.
as Jager turned the corner he saw a one of his generals standing before him, "Sir," came the reaction frpom the general, " It has arrived."
"Excentlent," Jager sayed as he quickend his pace to the main command center.
------ As Jager entered the command center the screen lite up showing a picture of a Confederation destroyer in Levo's orbit.
Just as Jager entered several armed civiliens showed up. "what is the meaning of this?"
"Sorry sir we will be removing you from office. you will take your new ship and leave Levo space. You man never return."
"Fine. Please give me 5 minutes to prepare my affairs," Jager replyed in a state od shock since he had never done anything wrong.
Jager waklked up to a control pannel and opened levo's account and transfered all of levo's new funse to his personal account. giveing him the money needed to take back his home. as Jager left the command center for the shuttle to go to his new ship he sayed to Iron Eagle as he entered, " You will pay for this."
"We will see," He replyed.

Looking at his confederation staff almost make Jager cry. In the past 36 hours he had lost his position and his home. Now he was in the middle of now where avoding every other ship as his was repared.well at least his ship has a clocking devise on board. --------

The Zigra system, isolated and sparsely defended, had joined the Rebellion more for the potential gains then any idealistic fervour; they had only ten Destroyers and twenty Mantas. Again the Olympian Assault Fleet dropped from hyperspace, weapons hot. Again the Rebels lifted from the surface of Lauralee. Having been met by a convoy of fresh munitions in Gamera, the Assault Fleet once again opened with it's tactic of picking off the Mantas one by one. This time the smaller Manta force managed to destroy one Solidarity Corvette before they were eradicated. The battlefield began to fill with ordanaince; torpedos and missiles from the Olympians, and missiles from the Rebels. With the fighters running interference to distract the Rebel captains - and take down two of the Destroyers with Rocket barrages, while losing three Lightnings - the Olympian warships concentrated fire upon one Destroyer until it vanished in an expanding fireball, then the next, and the next distracted by the fighters, the Rebels took down another Lightning and two Rapiers before going down in flames.
The Zigra System is now Under the Jurisdiction of the Olympian Solidarity
Olympian losses: 1 Corvette 4 Lightnings 2 Rapiers
Assault Fleet stats: ten Artemis, nine Athenas, four Kestrels, two Corvettes, four Lightnings, and sixteen Rapiers.
