I was under the impression Skyblade made no changes to the stats of the EV stock ships.
Maybe it slipped his mind, but I have checked and the Escort Carrier in EV only has 3 Proton Cannons and 4 Mantas.
Oh and another thing I meant to bring up. I think that each government should have standard pre-determined defense fleets for each type of world. For example, each Fed Colony World is protected by X combination of ships, while each Core World is protected by Y combination... and so on. This woud prevent something like what happend with the last Alien offensive of BFS III from happening now. Also no player control of defense fleets should be allowed unless actual player controlled fleet elements are present in system, with the exception of the government's capital.

That is an interesting concept. However, each government should be able to change their defense fleets when new ship designs are invented. This would allow the fleets to be up to date.

It is my opinion that players should have the right to command defense fleets when there government gives them authorization. However, I don't think that defense fleets (except for the capital defense fleet) should have to be player-controlled when the planet is under attack.
Sorry for not being careful with my writing, I meant that the way player's power is distributed should be like in the real politcal world (which what you suggest) according to the highest player of each side.
About the escort carrier, it would not be usefull for the Rebellion to have such a slow moving ship with only four mantas and three turrets. Unless it has qualities that I do not know, as a Rebel, I would cheat the official specifications...

Hey - no problem. That is what a meant. The commander of each theatre (supreme power in his theatre) has jurisdiction over his theatre but none else, as it is in the "real" armed forces.

However, the game is designed to be as realistic as possible. There are many changes that would help enhance the crappy Confed Frigate, but the point is to be as close to the original as possible.

This is one of the primary reasons I joined. All the ship and tech growth of the BFS.x stories was (IMO) part of its problem. It only created pages of bickering.

Because fleets could be divided into smaller units, what is the minimal size to kee p track of the total number of ships. The names of these fleets should be standadized throughout the universe. Here is a proposition:
Warfleet(WF): 500+ Division fleet(DF): 250-499 Brigade(BF):100-249 Squadron(SF): 1-99
As for the identification: The Rebel warfleet attached to Turin's spaceport (Turin-WF-650)composed of 650 ships - 1-Turin-DF-250 - 2-Turin-BF-150 - 2-Turin-SF-050 the Turin-DF-250 could divide itself for refuelling or repairs: -2-Turin-DF-BF-100 -1-Turin-DF-SF-050
Basically: (x number of fleet)-(Sector or base)-(type of fleet)-(number of ships)

I'll say it's complicated. What happened to Skyblade's original set up? We were gonna use standard EV ships and fleets for this webstory.
I am seriously considering quitting this one ... before it even starts. It is the "extras" you add to the story which doom it....
