I have, but most of you probably haven't very much... I've been around a bit the past few days. I'm not gone either.
I suppose I'd probably be willing to run this, but keep in mind it's not going to be anywhere near as elaborate as what I did for BfS III. Having done that once, I can well appreciate why CS didn't want to have a map update to do constantly.
As I haven't been watching this for a while, could someone give me a rundown on any major decisions that have been made in the past month, as well as who's with us and where? It would be really helpful to know if I'm going to be organizing this deal.
Carno: AFAIK, you're still the leader of Lethe.
Once I have a better idea of who's where in this, I'll look at the neutral mod issue. I might consider stepping down as Cydonian leader to do it myself depending on how many people we have. Even if that doesn't work out though, I think Skyblade's idea of smaller fleets coupled with standard EV tech will help a lot. BfS I was very good in that regard, and we did have a lot of players at times.

Essentially no major decisions have been made lately... in fact no minor decisions have been made either! Mac you wont have to step down if we can find someone else to do it, in fact we might be able to recruit one of the many mods that hang around in B&B.;

HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!! (this has nothing to do with original message:-S SORRY!) I used to be an EV addict several years ago, me and my m8 would play on his old Mac, but the memory of the game has lain festering in my head 4 YEEEAAARS until recently and a quick search on the internet showed me it was still an exclusively Mac game !!! Short of using a full mac emulator and installing Mac OS is there an EASIER way of getting EV to work on my Win PC????!!! I would appreciate any good ideas
No, get a Mac... then get Nova.
Jimbob I feel your pain I have AOL and I hate it, I managed to get Nova early through sheer determination and one of my old teachers ZIP drives.
Am I the only one who pays any attention to this story anymore? If this story is dead before it started I would like for someone to at least let me know. If it is still alive then can someone please answer my questions.

Correct. I've been on a Novathon for the past two weeks, but it seems to be ending. Unless more people pay any attention though, this probably is pretty dead, I'm afraid. Two people isn't enough to do a very good webstory. Maybe if we just started an informal one, more people would join.

I just got back from San Diego after being gone for a week, so I may not be entirely up-to-date on recent events, but where is Captain Skyblade? I would guess that if he came back you could probably start the webstory, but I have not seen his name around for a long time...

OK, 4 now. Sorry Jager, I haven't been watching for the last two weeks.
ares, Skyblade is still around, just not nearly as often as he used to be. He's been busy with school and stuff. He posted around he somewhere earlier today, but I can't remember where.
In unrelated news, Macavenger rooted through his Alien Invader files and completed a couple more missions so far today. Mac hopes to have an alpha build done within a week or two, depending on a few factors, mostly related to the real world and Nova.
Mac, most people are still willing to do the webstory. It's just that it is in a few more months and there isn't really anything to post about right now.
Why the hell'd we kill the Boozerama? So what it was crap, at least people posted.

As far as I know almost everyone is still interested, in fact I've actually talked to new people interested in joining. As for not having anything to post there is plenty to talk aobut. For instance the mod issue is still important, also we need to decide things like the initial money we will get for fleets and rules to determine the role of new tech in the game.

My general idea was to make it a lot more informal this time, partly because that's worked well in the past and partly because I don't really want to run a massive operation like BFS III again. If we were to get something going in a few days, how many people would be interested? I think I could get something relatively informal organized that quickly.
I think that if we took the general rules and spirit of BFS III but with smaller fleets, already established tech, and unbiased mods the EV webstory could be extremely successful and fun. Despite it's problems I had a blast playing BFS III... the EV Webstory has the potential to be twice as fun and a hundred times less frustrating. As far as mods go I think if we could just get a few people that can actively read the topic, we should be fine.
