Had an idea that may be stupid. I am kinda mad that the Lethe and the Cydonians have almost no differences in ships. I think that both governments should have at least one choice if not more of new ships, as long as they are in reason. And I would like to start at... Lethe!

Technically, this webstory (at the start) is completely based on classic EV. However, I would not object to these provinces being allowed a single specialized fighter class.

How about a Kestrel that has parts from a Confederation flagship?

I doubt it... but where would you get the flagship?
Lol he must be operating under the assumption that he will actually win some battles against us

yes well we all know that you can buy a confed ship... sometimes... But the shipyards that have it could eisly be stolen from. If you get my drift.
Oh ya. independent players are going to have a hard time staying alive and keeping up with the rest of the players so i suggest that they get special things like larger defence fleets and so on..

I was a Confed fleet commander who left because I was angered at their decision to ban something I liked. The original crew was killed by pirates when I was hired to be the commander of Privateer's Haven (I told them I was on an undercover mission). That is my background for the story.

Really? You think that the minascule resources and technology of a small independent planet can compete with a Level 2 Strike Force or PBDS (Planet Based Defense Sentinel)? Not to mention the million or so regulars stationed at Luna. Oh yes, I forgot to include the massive Solarian Defense Force.

I think I mentioned a while back that Independents should have some advantages.

Umm... no.

I agree. One of the things I think Indies should get is larger defense fleets. Obviousily everyone is going to go after the independents, and having larger defense fleets, maybe 1.5x larger than normal, would balance that out. Any ideas for other "Indie" advantages?

But I want to play the role of a pirate leader who defected from the Confeds :frown:.
Go right ahead, but do it from the bridge of your kestrel. I dont think it is fair for a person to be able to pick the most powerful ship in the game, even though its outside thier government, just because it fits their character.
You might, however, be able to get a confed cruiser during the course of the game if ships are to be used to pay the mercenaries as well as credits. The way I see it the mercenaries do a job for the 'feds, we think they did such a good job that we pay them with a Confed cruiser, which you in turn pay a massively inflated price to buy from them :D.

I was talking about a Kestrel with Cruiser parts weilded to it making it look menacing and be slightly more durable.
If mercenaries are paid with Cruisers, you might be able to buy one from them and then scrap it. You could then use it's parts to addon to the kestrel, in fact probably more than one.

Very true. Such as transfering weapons and armor. Of course, there should be a slight penalty on the amount of resources as stated in the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics or principles set thereafter as well as the behavior of heat.
I have an idea for a new rule that ought to make things a bit more fair. Withh new ships, their prices should be decided upon by all the government leaders. This will make sure that no government is getting it's stuff cheap while a similar craft from another government is horrendously expensive.

I believe it should be based upon the specs of the ships.
And each government gets 1 new ship. Thats it.
