That sort of scared me away from norton stuff for a while. I keep a copy of norton on my hd, but only in case of emergencies.

Hmmm... An old, outdated version of Norton Utilities, perhaps?

Yeap, but I can't reply it yet. :frown: My dad had to use my G3s keyboard temporarily on someone else's computer, so it doesn't have a keyboard at the moment...

If you have the mouse you can use Key Caps to write short messages

But unfortunately, using this form of writting is long, and very tedious.
Have no keyboard? :frown: That must be very annoying. I'm lucky, because we have an iMac and it came with that.... well, I suppose you can call it a keyboard. It's hardly bigger than the mouse. We can always use that keyboard that came with the computer if our primary one craps out (whic it has). We couldn't stand the standard keyboad, so we bought one of those "ergonomic" keyboards that's split in the middle. It's great.
Always a good idea to have backup hardware.

ares: all three of our Macs also came with keyboards. One of my dad's clients lost a keyboard recently, so he's taken ours (from the G3) and decided to use it away from home temporarily. I'll get it back.

Heh, get one of the new Apple Pro Keyboards and a Logitec Optical Wheel Mouse, like I have. They're both great.

My dad keeps threatening to take my keyboard if I don't do my study. I point out to him that it's my keyboard, brought with my money, and he has no right to take it. At which point he goes and sulks to my mum. I hope you get your keyboard back soon.

You know, if you would spend your time studying and and finishing your homework before goofing off, you wouldn't have to worry about that. I learned years ago that the more time and effort I put into my school, the sooner I could get free time.
Actually, I do have a temporary replacement for the keyboard. The caps don't work, though.
I have heard dozens of stories of caps not working on new/replacement keyboards. What's with that?
I have a lot of trouble doing my homework. I'm not stupid; I'm in advanced classes, but I'm lazy. I'm the worst procrastinator the world has ever known... I have a hard time doing something when all I can think is, "You know, I could do this later , and goof of now...."
Originally posted by ares1: **I have heard dozens of stories of caps not working on new/replacement keyboards. What's with that?
This keyboard is one we've have for awhile, though it is rather new. As for why the caps don't work is beyond me...
I used to be just like you when it came to school. But since my mom is my teacher and I love her to death, I've kind of adopted the thinking of "You know, I could do this now, and good off later... As a matter of fact, I haven't made anything but "A"s so far this year (even in math I really don't like that much. Blasted Algebra and Geometry ;)). Hard work and study always pays off.

No. Trust me, some of my friends and I are worse. We procrastinate as much as possible while still getting the assignment done on time. If I have an assignment due fifth period, for example, it'll typically get finished during fourth period or lunch the same day it's due. Beat that.
I'm with you on all the other stuff you said, BTW.
Skyblade! You are not my mother,so quit it right now! I know you're right, but I don't want to think about it. Don't worry Mac,I'm worse than you. With me it tends to get done after the deadline. I'm probably going to fail School Cert this year.Ah well.I don't really care much anymore.

Ha! Don't want to admit you could always try harder, eh? I can be very lazy as well (and school often sounds like the worse thing to do)...
Originally posted by Shade: **Don't worry Mac,I'm worse than you. With me it tends to get done after the deadline. **
It doesn't count if it's late. For true honorable procrastination, you still have to finish it on time. Just barely on time.
I'm seeing a trend here... are all computer nerds lazy? let's see... /me goes through list of friends mentally Could be.

Many of them are quite lazy (at times), but my dad certainly isn't.
I'm not lazy naturally, just when things such as school become a heavy load.

Hmm, true, my dad isn't either. Maybe it has something to do with being a teenager and a computer nerd in combination.

Probably right. We've all got to get used to responsibility sooner or later, though.
