Here's how to Emulate a Mac

Legally, no. You have to get the Mac rom from a mac you own. Is the problem that you own a Mac, but not the right kind? As for a website where you can download it....no, I'd doubt it.

Ok, I explained further in the e-mail I sent you. So, I guess I'm stuck playing EV on executor. But, after all the time I've been without EV, I'm happy to be playing it again, no matter how badly it runs. But, I have one more question. Does Basilisk II really run EV better than Executor or any of the other emulators? Thanks.

I've been running BasiliskII successfully, to emulate my old Mac system..
but I installed EV and EVO tonight and neither will start up (Error message,
"Sorry, an error occured while trying to open MonitorTool, ID = -3"). Anyone
got this before? I'd love to play these games again.. they worked fine on
the actual Mac I'm emulating (which is at home now; I'm at school, thus, the
reason for emulating.. besides it running a lot faster on my PC). Anyway,
if anyone knows how to solve this, let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚ (I already tried changing
the resolution/monitor settings, with no luck)

Yeah, sorry I'm taking so long to respond to people's questions. I've just been really busy these past couple weeks. I'll be a lot more free after the Sunday after this one. Thanks for your paitence (if you have any ๐Ÿ™‚ ).

Oops, sorry bout that. I got that same warning, what you need to do is go to the (Screen) tab in the BasiliskIIGUI program and change "Colors" to "256 color palette (8-bit)".

P.S. I've heard that changing the screensize to 640 by 480 improves game speed, I haven't had time to check yet.

Yeah! Now I can play EV with no problems by using Basilisk II! Let me tell you, don't use executor. It's nowhere near as good as Basilisk. Executor runs it very choppily.

hey, glad to hear all of you got it working alright. btw, I wouldn't recommend changing the screen size to 640x480. It makes the screen go black and white and has no other noteable change. Also, I just downloaded EV and it runs a lot better than EVO on the emulator with the same settings...how bout that.... Oh well, cya.

Well that surely cleared it up. Clear as mud.

3. Replace "get rid of their PC" with "get an additional computer that's a mac" and use this to answer your comeback of point one.
Can't afford $50 - 100? Stop eating twinkies for two months and there's your money. "Can't afford it" is a cop-out.

... And karl, if you get the urge to reply again, resist it.
Pretty touchy, aren't you, WB? Get a MAC and really enjoy EV.

-PD-

If you're saying can you get a rom file from a mac and will the mac still work, I think the answer is yes. I don't see how it could screw it up.

ok thanx. i guess i get it. i thought that when you used a rom file from the mac, then the mac didn't have a rom file anymore and it wouldn't work. but i guess it really COPIES the rom file. right? sorry this is my last question. if you know the answer please respond asap. thanx!

I do think that it really COPIES it. It doesn't take it. But, I'm only 99.9% sure. Not 100.

Dude, it's a ROM (read-only memory). The only way to erase a ROM from a 68k is to remove the physical ROM chip on the motherboard (or somewhere....).

There are problems with iMacs sometimes, but there's no way to emulate them anyway.

ok thanx. i guess i will jus have to but a 68k. does anyone knoe how much a used 68k is?
