Looks good as far as the layout is concerned. Easy to get around...

Well, think about it. All Confederation warships look quite similar in shape... The 'Fed Corvette is well under half the size of the cruiser, it's wings are "X" shaped (not a cross), and it has a totally different role.

Darn, I hate those ads... Sorry 'bout that.

It looks good, but keep in mind the general theme of my website. I'd like to keep the font I'm currently using for the Intro text... Your graphic has that nice, bright metal look to it, though.
I see about the "rollovers." Straight java seems to have a tendency to crash browsers as well, though (at least on my machine).

Get out of here! You're making my website look bad or something!
That looks terrific. It greatly resembles my old Saber Studios website layout as far as colors and such are concerned. If you like, I'll be glad to base my website on what you've got there, as long as I can do some editing. Also, did you create that shipyard section using submission coding, or did you build it piece by piece (like I do)?
Sweet logo as the bottom left corner of the screen.
Nice work. And yes, I was serious about the karma point.

Lucid: I tried your method several times for making those target images, but I'm getting completely different results. And many of those filters aren't even listed under the categories you had them under. What version of Photoshop are you using?
Find edges seems to work just fine. I get a concept art-appearance, and the outline of the ship is rather obvious. I then invert the image, which usually deletes any additional color. After applying the neon glow, things look bad. No matter how much I toy around with the settings, the results are nothing similar to yours. Did you happen to do some additional editing to the image?
If you're talking about making those green wireframes, I do it like this: filter glowing edges smoothness=1 , edge width=1, brightness=10 . Then, I make it b&w;, then I change the color ballance to +100 cyan, yellow, and green.
Edit: here's an example (url="http://"http://www.freewebz.com/nickg14/rebeldestroyerwireframe.jpg")http://www.freewebz....erwireframe.jpg(/url)
If this is not what you were talking about please disregard this post

Skyblade: Few (very, very few) things on this earth are as hideous as the standard EV target graphics. That green looks pretty bad. I suggest you find a better way to make the targets; maybe do like EVula did in one plug-in, and use shrunken shipyard views. It looks much nicer. Or do something (not the same thing, of course, but you know what I mean) like Meowx did in MAGMA. Don't be bound by the traditional, ugly target graphics.

Most people prefer the ugly green wireframe target graphics since they blend in with the other EV graphics. I can understand they aren't the best looking, but I also realize how bad nice-looking target graphics look when mixed with the regular EV counterparts. I might develop different types of target graphics for each ship...
Bari: Sounds good. I'll try out that method as soon as I can.

Gah! I hate the wireframe! Change the sidebar if you have to, because I'd love to see different target graphics.

I prefer the wireframe myself, as the mac I have is too slow to comprehend extremely advanced graphics (we got it for free off of my dad's work's trash heap basically), but I would probably prefer a wireframe anyway, as it's supposed to be a radar readout of the ship, not a picture of it.

Moot point, the graphics aren't any more "advanced" than the original target graphics (both are a simple PICT resource).

Actually, that is a good point... however, not everything in a game should be "real".

There's a simple solution to the whole target grahpics thign ... make them all!
That is, make both a wireframe target graphic and a color one (perhaps two color ones - one a "shipyard" one (3/4 view) and a top-down one?)
P.S. Skyblade, how are the grahpics going? Have you done a Rebel Escort Carrier yet? When can we expect the ships we see here to be put on the shipyard sites - masks, comm pics and all - yet?
Also, are you still going to do the UE set for EVO?
God bless,
UE Patriot

What I meant was the more detail on a graphic the slower it runs, and my computer has a very dated (to say the least) processor and visual support. But whatever the reason, the complex pictures make my game run slower.
Edit: confusing sentence structures

Once you all stop bogging me down with millions of requests! Just kidding there, but it's hard getting everything done in such a small amount of time... I've mostly been working on new target graphics. No new models yet.
Originally posted by UE Patriot: ** Also, are you still going to do the UE set for EVO? **
Most likely, but don't know when at this time.
Since we can't seem to make up our minds as to what kind of target graphics we like, I made a type that isn't wireframe, yet mixes well with the original EV menubar. You'll have to visit (url="http://"http://saberstudios.evula.net")Saber Studios(/url) to see them, though (Darnit, EVula!). Go to the shipyard. Also, the Rebel and Confederation Cruiser are now up for download.

Good! Someone finally agrees on a single style of target graphics! I spent more time on those target graphics than any other type I've done before, so it's good to hear the time payed off...
I've tried working on ships before, but they all tended to die except for now. FINALLY, I have a semi-presentable ship. It's an alien ship check it out here: (url="http://"http://www.freewebz.com/nickg14/alien1.jpg")http://www.freewebz....kg14/alien1.jpg(/url)
Skyblade, how do you spin your graphics with photoshop? If you don't know could you spin it for me (if that's too much trouble don't bother)
Edit:fixed the link
Captain Skyblade, those targets are perfect. I love them. Keep outdoing yourself, you do.

That looks pretty good, although the quality is quite low (and your host doesn't provide external linking unfortunately). Aside from the .jpg quality, I like the model.
Well, I don't spin my graphics in Photoshop. I piece my sprites and masks together within it. I export my spin animations out of Infini-D via QuickTime, and copy them into PS frame by frame...

Good. One style fits all.
Appreciate the feedback.
Hey sky, feel free to take that site design, it was made for you.
However, I've run into a bit of a stump, seems in a few days I'm about to leave off to new mexico. ooops! I'm truly sorry if I got your hopes up, if not, sorry bout that heh. But I'll leave those there for you to take. Feel free to take those pic(s) and do what you need with them for SS.
I'll get back to you as soon as possible, I got your e-mail in my e-mail account so I'm set. It'll be about a week to a month before im online again. And when I am, I'll be on a new computer, fully capable of full design.
I must say I do feel honored to have (almost, Evula never got to it yet, its okay :p) gotten a karma point within 8 posts :). You guys are great people, I'll miss ya in my absence. But perhaps when I get back I'll have lots of ideas Been writing down quite alot of mission ideas. I plan on making a plug with a real punch to it. Not a graphics showcase :p. Perhaps instead when I get back I could share these ideas with you, I've love to join Saber Studio's development at a later date. But thats future talk, About now, I'm getting ready to go off on my adventure. Being 19, moving out into the mainland leaving everything (actually very little) behind here in hawaii, well , lets just say its got a great deal of my attention.
Sorry to be 'here and gone' but I'll be back. Wonder if this thread will still be active heh. Anyways something to look forward to, when I get back I'll have a lot of resources at my disposal to help you out.
->Peace
