Well, the aliens are much more likely to defeat HC ships than they are Dreden.
grundy: You can still choose your starting location. I'd recommend either the Exerd or Guam system, since they both are major jumpsites for movement towards your capital. Those areas need to be protected.
Or better yet, start your fleet IN the capital, and transport the capital to the north (You'll need the Emperor's permission first). Bravard and Kron are a good spot, and it will be all the harder for the Dreden to reach it (and the HC).

Okay, I was looking at the BfSIII homepage, I found a rather unfair thing. The Ailen Battlestation has: Shields: 10,000 Armor: 5,000 Construction Cost: 90,000,000 credits 14 Needle Beam Turrets 7 Fusion Particle Beam Turrets 14 Seeker Module Launchers 1400 Seeker Drones 7 Detonator Blisters 84 Detonator Packets 8 Interceptors
On the Dreden Battlestation: Shields: 8,000 Armor: 8,000 Price: 80,000,000 credits 60 Plasma Beam Turrets 2 Neutron Trinity Cannons 10 Turreted Plasma Bolt Stinger Launchers 1000 Turreted Plasma Stinger Rockets 3 Turreted Plasma Rocket Launchers,br /> 300 Turreted Plasma Rockets 12 Turreted Plasma Torpedo Launchers 600 Turreted Plasma Torpedoes 30 Medium Fighters
The Dreden has 16,000 defences, the Aliens have 15,000. The Dreden has 30 fighters, the Alien has 8. The Dreden has 25 projectile turret/cannons, the Alien has 14. The Dreden has 1900 projectiles, tha Aliens have 1484. The Dreden has 0 beams, the Aliens have 21(That was just to be fair). Most importantly, the Dreden costs 80,000,000 and the Alien costs 90,000,000. The Dreden is far to good. It should be made much pricier.
Oh, saw your other posts. Yo Kyle, can I move the Capital?
Grundy: Sorry, but I didn't make the battlestation stats, much less the prices. Mac is in charge of all that, so I can't alter anything without his permission. Unfortunately, he hasn't showed up in a few days...
Also, Dreden tech is as good as the aliens. I believe the alien battlestation should be knocked down a good ten million credits, or the Dreden battlestation ten million more, since it carries two of the infamous (and rather dangerous ;)) neutron trinity cannons.
Captian Skyblade, all we have to do to win is take the capital, correct? And by mining I assume you didn't mean physically get out shovels and dig out gold. /Me grabs dictionary...
Mac, update the map, I can't make a bloody descision about defense without seeing the big picture.

Rak, you just destroyed the jumpgate? What is going on here? If you destroyed it, that means that you can't get back to your own galaxy.
Skyblade: Jager is no where to be found, rebel council has run off somewhere, grundulater has joined, am I'm sporadically here. That leaves 2 semiactive commanders. Also, I have no idea what's going on in the Kaujathat system with all of these commando assaults that Rak keeps posting. Meanwhile, I'll have to do something I guess.
Captain Carnotaur: Rak just supposedly annilhated all alien ships in the Kaujathat system with zero response from the aliens? Someone give the statistics please.
Grundy: I think you're needed more on the front lines than moving the capital in some backwater territory.

Heh, I was regarding space mines. You know, the explosive objects that float about... Not sure if we'll need to create ships that specifically hold mines to do this, though. Once again, Mac's absence is getting the better of us.
Yeap, we need to capture the capital to win the game. Chances are we'll have to take the entire Imperial Navy with us as well.

The command center of the gate was booby trapped by the Alien defenders. Only the CC was destroyed. The jumpgate remains completely operational.

Here it is: My fleet is in the system Jager's fleet is in the system (I just posted updated fleet stats) Carno is back at Kaujathin The lower section of the jumpgate was taken out by a nuke The command center of the jumpgate was taken out by a fission bomb The jumpgate continues to operate It is either Jager's or Carno's move
That enough>

That post was voided. See above response -^-
If a jumpgate works how I think it works, taking out the bottem part would kill the whole thing for a while.
Which post was voided and by who?
------------------ Go Red Sox! Down with the Yankees!
I propose a new rule. Prices should be decided upon by all government leaders, or 3/4 if one is missing. This will help avoid the conflicts of interests that we have with Macavenger doing it all. And less of a reason to bitch about prices.

WTF is up with Mac's pricing?! He put the Deborah-class missileboat at 15 million! Missileboats are comparable to gunships yet although HC gunships cost 3 mil a pirate version costs 15 million!
E-Mail him a complain. Just don't sit here where Mac hasn't been for days...

Bitching in public is more fun.
But it doesn't make people respect you more, and your problem is less likely to be adressed than if you contact him directly. I take it your just doing it to stir up controversy, as it really isn't that big of a deal.

For you perhaps, but not for the folks who have to read it every time they visit the topic.
Some of the pricing has been rather screwed. Whoever mentioned the possibility of having government leaders all decide on a final price, I like it.

Perhaps there can be a "perfect" solution. How about using a formula? Such as each torpedo costs x, each launcher costs y, this amound of speed for this class costs n etc.

It's also the fact that 1. Odds are that it will make no difference timewise, 2. I don't like e-mailing people on the webboard unless they did it first or we are part of a group thing (such as same government) and 3. so that it is out in the open and that others know about it. And actually overpricing something by more than 5 times is a big deal.
