I proposed an alliance back then, too... but if you would like to re-instigate the topic, I'm sure my superior will have time to schedule an appointment.
As for YOU Zen... OK, sure. But in that, case, the Dreden can't know about the HC. How would they find out that the Rebels and Feds stopped fighting? How do they know?
If you really want to get into the legistics, then you'd have to admit to that as well.
Asriel should be along to sign a treaty soon. In any case, it looks like most of us pirates agree on it. Shall we start working on the terms of the treaty? And should it merely be a non-aggression pact or an alliance?

how do i register?
As I said, RC has a major seniorityover me in al of this. Has anyone seen him lately?
Anyway, I would hope for a complete alliance, as we recognize that you are the superior might over in the MW. The pirates are beyond government, they know that the best life is one of freedom. They only went to plundering due to the fact that they were put on as crimminals by the HC, and of course the fact that they were starving. Believe us, peoples of the HC, the pirates are a lot diffrent here then in EV.
I will wait untill I hear word from RC about the matter before posting anything. RC, if you're reading, please arrange a battle.net time for U & Me and E-Mail all other aliens (if and when they ever get here) else the key. Everyone's wired to start, no-ones going to hold it off on account of 1 governments "scret code."

Maybe the Dreden don't know about the HC, but they know about the humans in the milky way. Anyway, it wouldn't be a terribly amazing suprise to them if they had found the Rebels and Confederates to have stopped fighting, and congomerated into one government.
Though it sounds as if both your government leaders agree on the Alliance, if the Dreden and HC have to encounter each other first, before forming an Alliance, well, then so ought the Alien and Pirate, no?

Actually, they wouldn't even know about the Rebels and Confeds. Remember, these people were captured during the Great War.
As for meeting, well we pirates are good at evading so there is no reason to believe that we couldn't have slipped a small shuttle or so through. Besides, the way the map is set up is rather unfair if that rule is put up. The HC make one jump and they have an alliance, the Pirats have to make dozens of jumps.
I don't think the map was designed with a pirate/alien alliance in mind... considering KK's apparently not-so-definitive response on the matter all that time ago.
I thought the colonists left to escape the fighting between Rebels and Confeds, and were captured when they entered Alien territory?
Also, as you would probably agree, it would be nigh unto impossible for the pirates to sneak someone all the way to the Aliens, especially when no one else has yet to go through the jumpgate besides Aliens themselves, and also if the HC hasn't been able to make contact with the Dreden yet.

Obviously the alliance won't take affect till the game starts but it is easy enough to contact them. Take one run of the mill freighter. Add a Ghost bay with a Ghost or two to it. Don't let this addition be visible. Have the Ghost modified enough that it can make a few jumps. So no weaponry on this modified Ghost. Get a supply mission or something like that to the jumpgate. When near jumpgate release fighter and have it go through jumpgate. Because of its speed it will be impossible to catch. Once through it can contact the Aliens.
Cadet, see you e-mail ASAP.

Let's be realistic here:
1 - The Aliens are an Empire, they are Imperialistic. In other words, they destroy everyone. The Aliens have a bitter hatred towards the humans, especially considering their loss of the Great War. The pirates are human outlaws, and are therefore likely to be treated exactly like that of the Human Confederation.
2 - How do you know exactly where the Aliens are, how would your fighter have the fuel to reach, and how do you expect to form an alliance with galactic enemies? We allowed the pirates to join BFS III with the idea in mind that everyone is against them (and is why I keep saying the pirates won't last long). In short, it's only a matter of time before you and your opposition is crushed... How long it takes depends on your judgement and command skills.
3 - The Dreden and Human Confederation are only expected to become allies since they are both human governments, fighting a common enemy. Therefore, this is not a double-standard on the issue regarding Alien and Pirate peace terms.
So... T2k is Dreden? I'd be ranked above him, right?
