Good. The numbers were mostly arbitrary, so you can change those if you like, but they do sound fairly good to me.

spl_cadet, since I cannot design a rock, I surely appreciate all the work you have done improving our arsenal. Thanks.

KK you are correct. Rocks are hard to model-in the end I had to ask Kwanzar for an asteroid model. Hum hum hum mm I like this cash limit thingy for fleets, instead of a numbers limit. Providing the ships are reasonably priced,it should work. What we need is an equation to work out, given the stats, the price of a ship

Speaking of which, I will soon post the statistics of the Dreden Rebellion ships. For all you other government leaders, go ahead and write out your stats as well and post them here. We'll need to fix them up and change minor, unrealistic stats before using them in the webstory.
Mac: I like what you originally said about the starting fleets. Let's just leave it at that for now.

Sounds good on the fleets. So am I officially doing pricing this time, or not?
I'll start on making stats. I will hopefully post them before tonight's end. KK, I don't do the shipyard; spl does. Spl, I may have to tone down your ships so that every one doesn't cost 50 mil.

Go ahead. Although the Lancer seems pretty reasonably armed.

Mac: You can have the pricing job if you want, just make sure you don't give them some huge, inflation-like price.
It would appear that my time estimate for stats was wrong. All prices are estimates, so here goes...
=============
Drake-class destroyer Spl, although you say that this is the Siege Carrier's replacement, that would be a little hard, seeing as it carries 0 fighters. I'll deal with that later, but this ship is becoming a destroyer. Shields: 1200 Armor: 500 Speed: 330 Accel: Good Turning: ••• 9 tri-photon turrets 3 LRBM launchers and 20 LRBMs 2 Guided Propulsion Mine Launchers and 15 Guided Propulsion Mines 2 Rocket Launchers and 20 Rockets Fuel: 600 Price: $25 million
Valkyrie-class heavy cruiser This is now the main assault ship in the Pirate's arsenal. Shields: 2500 Armor: 1200 Speed: 180 Accel: Poor Turning: •• 20 tri-photon turrets 6 LRBM launchers and 50 LRBMs 3 Guided Propulsion Mine launchers and 25 Guided Propulsion mines 1 HNR launcher and 10 HNRs Fuel: 700 Price: $50 million
Lancer-class light fighter What you did with the fighters was interesting. We now do not have a light fighter, so this is becoming one. Shields: 30 Armor: 15 Speed: 450 Accel: Excellent Turning: ••••• 5 swivel tri-photon cannons 1 LRBM launcher and 3 LRBMs 1 Rocket Launcher and 5 Rockets Fuel: 300 Price: $400,000
Starscreamer-class heavy fighter This is our heavy fighter, and will be equipped with bombs instead of LRBMs. Shields: 35 Armor: 25 Speed: 350 Accel: Good Turning: •••• 3 swivel tri-photon cannons 2 Guided Propulsion Mine launchers and 10 Guided Propulsion Mines Fuel: 400 Price: 800,000
Peregrine-class destroyer Shields: 500 Armor: 150 Speed: 350 Accel: Good Turning: ••• 4 tri-photon turrets 1 buster cannon Fuel: 600 Price: $11 million
(b)Halberd-class carrier This will be our super-expensive fighter-launching machine. Shields: 1000 Armor: 700 Speed: 140 Accel: Terrible Turning: •• 6 tri-photon turrets 10 LRBM launchers and 75 LRBMs 1 HNR launcher and 6 HNRs 75 fighters of player's choice Fuel: 1000 Price: $80 million
Spl, I hope you understand my re-classification of your ships. If you don't, email me.
It's good actually. Heh, I never realized that the Seige Carrier carried starfighters. Sometime within the next week I'll update the shipyard. Hopefully it will be done this weekend.
Looks pretty good, Asriel. I'll give you final prices on those within a couple days. Which old ships are you still using, if any? Corvette? Any others?
Dreden Rebellion Destroyer (Frigate Shipyard Graphic) (not ResEdit format) Shields: 150 Armor: 150 Speed: 400 Accel: Good Turning: **** Weapons: 8 Neutron Beam Cannons (like alien fusion beams, only blue, a little less powerful, and much better range) 2 Plasma Torpedo Launchers 10 Plasma Torpedoes (bright, green spheres of energy that pack a whallop) 2 Plasma Bolt Launchers 200 Plasma Bolts (sorta like human javelin rockets, only these look like minatures of the plasma torpedo. They don't fire as swiftly as javelins, but they have long range and good damage rate) Fuel: 600 Price: $20 million or so, but that's up to Mac.
I'll post more stats on other Dreden ships later.
So, the Dreden Destroyer has terrible shielding and armor, but great engines and weaponry. I wonder if this will be true for all the Dreden ships...
Mac, the Corvette is in service, but no other old ships are. This model of the 'Vette should shred fighters well.
Shields: 90 Armor: 20 Speed: 400 Accel: Good Turning: ••• 2 tri-photon turrets 4 Javelin Launchers and 300 Javelin Rockets 1 LRBM launcher and 8 LRBMs 1 Rocket Launcher and 6 Rockets Fuel: 500 Price: $2.3 million

Actually, for the high price I gave the Dreden Destroyer, I probably really should give it some extra protection. It's current shield and armor stats aren't exactly "weak," but they don't compare to alien technology like they should. I'll boot the shielding up to 250, and the armor as well. Just remember the Dreden Destroyer is quite fast for its size...
An interesting idea here. What if it were possible to blockade the passage of tax money from one planet to another? What I mean is that at the end of every 3 pages or whatever it is, the money gets sent from the world to it's governments capitol. But it could be prevented from reaching there. Here's an example. System A is the capitol of the HC. It links to systems B and C. C links to D and E. The pirates then capture C. The tax money from D and E gets interdicted by the presence of the pirates. If there is no fleet then 1/10 of the taxes gets lost per system controlled by enemy along the route. If there is a fleet there then 1/2 of it is lost in that system. However, if D linked to B as well then its taxes would safely reach the capitol, A, since they didn't have to go through C. You could protect the tax convoys by sending a player controlled fleet along to escort them, but the escort fleet would be unable to attack any enemy fleets (it has to escort) and if it were attacked and it lost then the entire tax convoy would be destroyed. No taxes from them that turn. The only exception that I could see to these rules would be for pirates if we start out like we did last time, scattered across the galaxy and not knowing where half of our bases are.
I dunno, that seems a bit complicated. Besides, sine even in the 21st century we can already transmit money electronically, I don't see why they couldn't in the 23rd century. It would be kinda hard for a fleet to intercept that.

Agreed. I think we'd be better off scrapping that idea, cadet, though it was rather creative.
A nice idea, but somewhat unworkable. Humm what to do toda, what to do

I believe we will use many of the original graphics, and maybe some others which can be seen in the old (url="http://"http://www.tmgmedia.net/tempo/Shipyard.html")Dreden War Plugin(/url) shipyard.
