Ah, well, I've been on 56K since early 1999, and haven't had any need to go beyond that yet.

Thanks.

Well, I hope if you have plans on purchasing EV/Nova, you'll get it in CD format. It'd take users with 56k modems roughly one and two-thirds centuries to download such a game...
But for general use, 56k does the job. If you run Linx, the internet seems to fly...

I first came to the EV WWWBoard in early 1997, shortly after I got EV, and left again after a few months. It was during this period that I first released Talon, although I didn't talk nearly as much as I do now. I came back again in late 1997 during the reign of Jos Delbar, and was there for the establishment of the EV Override WWWBoard, the release of EV Override, the conversion to DiscBoards, and the election of HellHunter. I then left again, and came to the UBB boards in August 2000 after hearing about "EV3" on MacNN. I first frequented the EV3/EV Nova board, then expanded to the other EV boards, and now check most of the boards regularly.

Surely not? I can get a good 14-15 MB per hour out of my G4's internal modem, which is quite enough to download just about anything I want overnight or while I'm doing something else.

MB per hour? I think you mean KB...
You were around the time I was, then. I remember Jos Delbar and HHunter, although I believe HellHunter was admin on the WWWBoard as well as the Discboard. I actually came into the scene just as Skyhawk was overthrown as the wwwboard admin. I got a bad reputation on the old boards because I was real jerk... heheh
I came back here when I heard about EVN, too. Well, a while after. I was on ASW's site to check up the the EVN progress log and I decided to see if any old friends were around on the board. I reactivated my account and... not much more has happened since.

Yeah, performing lengthy downloads during the night is a good idea. With cable, though, it saves you much more time (and internet fees). I was able to download the "Duality" trailer (81mb version) in between 11 and 12 minutes. But then again, download speed can often depend on website traffic.
theforce.net is usually a very slow website because of huge traffic problems, but I have no idea how I managed to get "Duality" downloaded in such a short amount of time...
Umm, Luke, I don't know exactly what you're talking about, but here goes. . .
Significance of Presence: EV/EVO/EVN/Space Place webboards. Name on ASW Boards: The Space Between Reason For Name: I'm addicted to Dave Matthews Band and I like the song. Where You first found EV: Ambrosia Shareware CD
I guess that's right!

12 minutes for 81 megs? Bleh, your cable is slow then. I downloaded the Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force demo (114 MB) in about 6 minutes a while back.

Name on ASW Board: rebel council, RC
Reason for Name: Actually it's suposed to be "The Rebel Council" but then the "the" would always be in the way. I like the Rebels and wanted cool name. I first registered as "Razor"(look it up)
Where you first found out about EV: When I was about wee big I used to go on the site "Mac Update", it was okay for my wee brain. I D/L it from there. Month later I found EVO on the same site.
About two years from the time I got the game I found this site. First time here I was like, WOW. I found this place through the registration link in the game.

No, I mean MB.

No, HellHunter was elected after the switchover to DiscBoard. Until his election, Skyhawk moderated the EV WWWBoard/DiscBoard, and Jos Delbar moderated the EVO WWWBoard/DiscBoard and was site administrator as well.
What was your screenname back then?

"The Patriot" was the best movie I ever saw (and the first one I ever cryed through ;)). Not only that, but John Williams' score for it was excellent...

No.. projects switch fast with that group. Of course, it doesn't mean that it won't be finished.. but no, its not done as of now.

Signification of prescence: On the EV, EVDev, EVN Boards Name on ASW Board: magicianeer Reason for Name: I claim a Bachelor's Degree in Magic (mortals call it a Computer Engineering Degree). Where you first found out about EV: Saw EV here and there since 97. First installed and played it on a friend's mac. Installation was nuked to save space and time. Later, it came installed on a used macintosh I bought. That version was never registered, but worked with no hector harassment, probably due to the semi-busted OS installation there. Blew out harddrive, downloaded EV from AmbrosiaSW.com, and registered EV. Upgraded to a used G3 mac.

I had actually only heard rumors of Skyhawk's game, but I didn't realize that it was for real. Maybe he'll finish it up someday...
