Not hardly. As far as I know there are no battleships in services now. The last ones were built in 1945. "Battlership" designates the largest and most powerful warship available, and a frigate ain't it.

The word "frigate" is an Anglicized form of a Spanish word "fregata" which was a type of medium-sized warship developed in the 16th century. Frigates were smaller and faster and carried lighter guns than the battleships of the time. The frigate designation seems to have faded out with the development of steam power and steel ships in the 19th century. The name was revived during World War II and applied to a class of small ships designed primarily as antisubmarine escorts for merchant ship convoys. Modern frigates are still primarily antisubmarine ships, they are smaller than destroyers but larger than the various missile boats.

I think Rawzer was using the word "battleship" in its Common English use, meaning simply "a ship used for battle," rather than the specific military meaning.

No, Macavenger, it just takes a while to load all the pages.

Anyway...Scoutship better than Clipper??? The Scoutship is slower, has worse weapons, less shields and armor...

Well, let's see. The Scoutship has more cargo room, better turning, and ~slightly~ worse speed and acceleration. Their shields are about equal, and the Clipper has marginally better armor. The armor on the Scoutship can and should be increased by Armaplast, after that there's nothing wrong with it for a ship that size. I don't find the extra weapons of the Clipper that big a deal, since I can easily disable a Corvette in the Scoutship, and I don't think the extra weapons the Clipper allows would help me disable much bigger game. Also, the (expensive) RCS Upgrade isn't an absolute essential on the Scoutship, but is on the Clipper. All this for about 1/6th the price. Now you tell me, which is better? 😛

Correcto. I've drawn many pictures of the 18th century clippers, and they were really something...With all the sails they carried, you would think the ship would tip over. But in the TC I'm building for Nova, "Insurrection: Final Assault" (I changed the name...It used to be "Operation Overlord"), I plan on making the clipper a swift cargo hauler.

Kudos, Matt!!!

Those Poor, deprived PC users 😉
EV Rules, but there are quite a few quality PC games out there. For example: Riven, Freespace 2, Red Alert, Warcraft II, and the Final Fantasy series.
They are all VERY good games, but Ambrosia games are very good too.
And yes, it is obvious that Matt did spend a tremendous amount of time preparing.
YEA!
