i just use the following: shuttle scoutship or clipper (depends on the amount of money i have) argosy corvette/kestral
it works, and i think the kestral, upgraded of course, is better than government ships.
------------------ We are all dead people on leave.
My fav. ship is the kestral. I just sell off my lightnings so I have an empty bay. Then fire three missles at any lightning I see. Then I fly on top and capture and sell. Great way to make a buck.
Shuttle- pretty good, kinda like a super defender with cargo Courier-hauls good cargo, has good price tag Clipper- bought, flew, died, within 2 minutes Courier- Had it again after 2 minutes, lost a lot of money Corvette- Captured planets, flew missions, went up to deadly, this is the best. Kestrel- Overpriced, but pretty good. Needs to be upgraded tho. Went to ultimate, pull in millions now
And now I'm trying to get a Gov't ship......I have usually only 2 escorts: A Corvette, Gunboat, Luxury Cruiser, or Barge.

It's been a long time since I played EV, but my standard order: Shuttle Clipper Corvette Rebel Cruiser
The fewer times I buy a new ship, the less total money I have to spend buying them, and the more money I can spend on upgrades for the ship I've got.

my order, all the time: shuttle scoutship corvette kestrel cruiser(which ever one is most useful at the time) ive tried using an argosy, but i didnt like it much more then a scoutship. just me i suppose...
------------------ "it is better to be silent and be thought a fool, then to open ones mouth and prove it."
My order: Shuttle, Argosy, Kestrel, Rebel Cruiser (sometimes 'Fed) Always fully upgraded with proton turrets, shields and armor, and a Hawk bay. No ranged weapons. Ever.
------------------ As long as we're on the subject, why don't we change it?

That's the way to do it! Um...except the hawk bay. That's just stupid. Stick with the Mantas. Or Patrol Ships.

Patrol ships suck so bad I can understand spending a million credits and 50 tons space on hawks if you have a confed cruiser. At least the hawks are quick to pursue the enemy.
Its a shame you can only get 2 hawks in standard EV. They are infinitely more effective in groups of 4.
------------------
My usual ship order: Shuttle Clipper Corvette Rebel Destroyer or Confederate Frigate
The ship order of my last pilot: Shuttle Defender Lighting Confederate Cruiser
I strongly back the defender. It takes very little time to afford, and works as a great pirate ship. Taking down Kestrels in a defender is actually quite easy.
------------------ c r a f t y
Shuttle Confed. Cruisor (NOT!! :)) Shuttle Clipper Corvette Confed. Cruisor
Shuttle Scoutship Corvette Rebel Cruiser
The Scoutship is the quickest way out of a shuttle, and makes a nice fighter too. I can easily take pirate clippers and Argosies, usually even pirate 'vettes. Corvette next because it's just awesome, and I get enough money doing the Diphidia II series in a scout that I'm not far from enough money for a 'vette so I don't burn any on an Argosy. All the gov. missions, including the aliens are easy in a 'vette, so why spend money on a Kestral? Plus, I usually have the alein missions before I can afford one anyway.
------------------ So go on the internet game sites and bash all the PC users!
(/b)(/QUOTE) Hey! :mad:I'm a Rebel all the way! I only disable, board, and destroy wimpy confederate ships, along with other pirates.
(/B)(/QUOTE)
Gahh! Don't destroy Confed civies! Hide behind them when the 'Fed warships fire the heavy rockets...
My order, Shuttlecraft Scoutship Corvette Kestrel Rebel Cruiser
But sometimes I use other ships for variety...

I'm surprised how many use Kestrals, they are too overpriced. By the time I can afford one, I've beaten an alien mission, so I just go for a cruiser. Yes the Lightnings are good, but the govt ships carry 4 fighters and so much more space, why do you all waste 10 mil on a Kestral? The alien mission is easy, maybe easier , in a Corvette, and can be done in even smaller ships.
