new missions

I'm, like many of you ,creating a new plug for EV. But i'm haveing some trouble creating missions. So I was wondering if you could post ideas for new EV missions.Any thing you ever whanted to do in a mission. Please post it. I wuold grately appreciate it. πŸ™‚

Hmm.... Ihave had an idea for a while that it would be interesting to create a new powerful government by uniting the independent planets. πŸ™‚ Maybe give them new ships or modified confed or rebel ones.

Well, anyway it sounds cool, even if it is kind of big.

thanks . i think that will go well with the ideas i got now πŸ™‚

Common people :frown:. You visit but dont post. You must have ideas πŸ˜•.

How about upon the beginning you aren't allowed to buy any military weapons (except
in pirate systems) until you complete a series of training missions.

As you advance, you are allowed more weapons, and your Training Level increases, which
means more training missions are available, none of which pay any money but mean that
after a while all non-government secret weapons and ships will be available.

Some government or special missions could require both combat rating and training
level.

hey i got an idea. you know with the confeds missions the rebels come up with a new ship why not have that ship in the rebel mission strings where you have to protect a convoy of them. or you have to take a group of environmentalists(sorry if its spelled wrong) to an uninhabited plantet to make it habitable. But the confeds(or rebels or pirates) are trying to stop you. or you met an alien ship(friendly) and he asks you to take him to your government hq, and there are fleets of pirates that try to stop you. hope you like my ideas. πŸ˜„ πŸ†’

------------------

Note that KK does not EVO, so he does not know if the trading companies have broader/different relationships there, but....

1. I have thought UGE would attempt to put ConEx or Starbound out of business (through sabotague missions pilots would be hired to complete).

2. Rebel supporter hired to kidnap some Confed Admiral: "Locate the Saratoga in or near the Rigel system. Disable it and kidnap Admiral 'Dixon'. Take him to Sirgil Starport for further instructions." (And have gobs of Confeds chase you all the way there.)

3. Put a "trick" escort mission in: Have a Courier convoy ask for escort help (from say, Yemuro to Atropos). If the accepting pilot plots a course through Propus-Darven have a whole fleet of Kestrels and Corvettes attack the escorting pilot (with "extreme prejudice"). Next time(s) the pilot is in Yemuro's bar, have the Convoy captain plead to try again -- boosting the fee each time -- and maybe the fourth time "suggesting" a different route. When the pilot's course is plotted through Altair or Curzon, the Couriers turn on the pilot ... message: "It's a ConEx trap! ConEx has tired of you accepting Starbound's mercenary missions against them. This'll teach you a lesson!!!" (And have the Couriers "boardable" and loaded with credits -- or weapons/ammo -- if you manage to survive.)

4. (I wish your handle did not contain "Rebel". You should call these people some version of your handle: Coulonians (?) ) A group of independent colonists has decided to start fresh on (the recently terraformed) NGC-2143 planet P-2143 -- which you get to rename: "Council's Folly," or whatever. (It is two jumps from Sirgil.) These efforts are opposed by both the Cydonians and the Letheans -- who covet the same planet. (Giving you lots of three-way conflict mission strings to play with too....)

Sorry I cannot think of anything. πŸ˜‰ I guess my imagination is broken.

Nice! You guys got a hole epic edventure for me to work on! πŸ™‚ Thanks!!

Make sure you put some missions in for the early stages of the game. A player who is starting out (or recovering from a loss in strict mode) only has ferry passengers and rush deliveries to do, and need not be bored.

Example of something fun but not dangerous:
An official from kathoon requests you take a new ambassador to Earth ($20,000 credits). On arriving at earth, the ambassador has an argument with the confed senator from Antares and requests you meet him in the bar.
In the bar, he tells you that kathoon had an understanding with the confeds that they would receive $3 milion/year in "development assistance" in exchange for non-military help against the rebels. However, this year's payment is 2 months late, the previous kathoon ambassador died mysteriously, and an unusual number of Astex prospectors have been operating near Kathoon.

You are dispatched on various investigative missions to Antares, Centari, Kathoon, each paying $20,000 on return to earth.
At Antares, you see nothing unusual.
At Centari, you discover that MST industries is shipping bioweapons somewhere.
At Kathoon, you see the bioweapon shipment arrive (harmlessly), but flagged as Astex ships. This mission should not require that you land on kathoon.
If you do land on kathoon and enter the bar at this point, a rebel agent asks you to take him to Vulcan to meet a ship. The ship will offer a mission when hailed. This mission will take you to Armstrong where the agent pays $100,000. You return to earth to finish the Kathoon investigation.
If you did the rebel agent mission, then on entering the bar at earth, the ambassador will accuse of ruining everything, but will be offered $50,000 to take the ambassador and staff to palshife to negotiate an arrangement with the rebels. On palshife an agreement is concluded and you are offered $50,000 to pickup the confed bioweapons and deliver them to spica for safekeeping.
If you did not do the rebel agent mission, then on entering the bar at earth, the ambassador will ask you to take him to luna to explain the importance of kathoon cooperation to the impending assault on spica. On arrival at luna, the ambassador disappears, never to be seen again, and a confed officer pays you $150,000 to "for your cooperation" in the kathoon matter. The next time you are in the bar on Luna or on earth, you will be offered $50,000 to transport the $3mil to kathoon.
At no point should the player come under fire, he is just a pawn.
All missions should have reasonable time limits.

This should pay enough to get the player into a clipper.

Obviously, a bar must be created on earth (it really should have one)

Oh, and while you are making the plug, please fix the light freighter and the hawk bay/hawk fighters (the defects should be obvious).

hey you could also put in large pirate missions, where they take over:Spica, Aries, Cydonia, Clotho, Persephone(not Palshife)and other systems, and you either help the newly united "New Alliance", which has rebel and confed, to keep the pirates away and possibly take over their base( oh say evildrome ), or help the pirates to take over Palshife, or Earth to show all other systems that they mean business. well gotta go hope that helps!

OK, now we'r getting somewere. Keep it comming!

I've never seen a mission where there was an attack actually mounted. Perhaps a player could pick sides in an epic battle at the edge of territories.

How about a Simpsons related mission? Like, you have to capture Mr. Burns in his Executive transport and take him to Hera. The Independants there wanted to prove that he was dumping toxic waste on their planet in the midst of their conservation efforts. Then Bart shows up in a Kestral and tries to blow you up with skateboard shaped missiles. Or maybe his ship IS a skateboard. And then pirates (Snake and Sideshow Bob) attack! AND THEN THE GALAXY IMPLODES!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I think I'm currently in the middle of going insane. Please hold.

<beeeeeeep>

Besides, Snake would never team up with Sideshow Bob. Bob is all skill.

OK, heres another one-- the "Star Knight" string.

You will need to flesh out the text.

The Star Knight
---------------
On a very high tech, non-confed planet such as akio, darven:

Star Knight v1.0:
An engineer with the antinoda logo sewed on his jacket asks you to undertake a descreet, dangerous mission-- rescue a prisoner from a confed ship who is being transfered to luna. If the ship is too well guarded, then break off and return empty (pays $300,000). <the prision ship should be invincible and well escorted and the player must return empty>

Back to the Drawing board:
On the starting planet, the engineer explains this his girlfriend is the prisoner and that prisoners sent to luna never return. He begs you to take him to palshife to see if the rebels will help, but cannot pay as he spent his money hiring you for the previous mission.

Star Knight Analysis:
On palshife, the rebels gleefully agree, if the engineer will provide plans to the prison on luna, and certain other prisoners are extracted if possible. The engineer asks you to take him to his office on centari. <time limit>

Star Knight Redesign:
On centari, the engineer obtains plans and asks you to take him back to palshife. <time limited>

Star Knight ReImplementation:
On palshife, the rebels accept the plans and asks you to pickup the commando team from ahdara, take them to luna, finally to sirgil.

Star Knight v2.0:
The commandos storm the bar on luna, alarms going off everywhere. They
ask for transport to sirgil. <Massive confed resistence on the trip, status reduced>

Star Knight Bugs:
The escape is a huge success, the commandoes tell you that the engineer's girlfriend was really a rebel agent assigned to infiltrate Antinoda. She stole plans to the kestrel. However, Sirgil is swarmed by confed ships, all communication is jammed. The commandos ask you to take word to palshife of the successful rescue. <news in sirgil bar should read Signal scrambled all communications cut off> <Major battle under way in sirgil when player leaves, some ships target player> <rebel modified kestrel destroyer is available>

Star Knight Rebellion:
On palshife you are paid very well, the antinoda engineer announces that he will "retire" and help the rebellion, handing over plans to an unreleased lightning bay module and to the lightning fighter. He looks forward to meeting his girlfriend. You are asked to go along with a fleet of cruisers to reinforce sirgil and bring her back to palshife. <lightning bay available, some rebel cruisers carry 4 lightnings instead of 4 mantas>

Star Knight Crash:
At sirgil, the confeds are defeated and the seige lifted, and you pick up the agent-girlfriend and other ex-prisoners. On arrival at palshife, the agent-girlfriend explains the role of seduction in espionage and dumps the engineer. (This scene should involve crying/shouting)

Star Knight Reboot:
In the bar on palshife, the engineer cancels his retirement and asks you to take him to clotho Prime, then to centari. On clotho prime, you pick up some "data".
On centari, the engineer pays you, then leaves. <antinoda begins hunting the player> <confed frigate carrying gunboats enters service>

Star Knight v3.0:
(5% chance on high tech confed worlds)
You see the engineer across the bar and threaten to expose his dealings with the rebels if he does not call off antinoda security. He says the confeds know everything, and they let him live in exchange for the plans to the rebel cruiser, which you helped him steal from clotho. However, Antinoda hasn't really forgiven him, so he will let you off if you do him a favor: destroy a prototype "super corvette" from Maskirovka so Antinoda can retain its claim to the most powerful civilian ship. <this prototype ship should be able to whoop any kestrel, and generally be a pain to kill>

-------------------
Places where the player should be attacked are obvious. The string should pay about 1.5-2 million over its course. It requires that their exist some modified ships and outfits-- rebel kestrel, purchasable lightning bay, frigate carrying gunboats, lightning bay modified to carry 4 lightnings.

Summary and Background
----------------------
The Antinoda engineer in charge of the lightning bay subassembly of the Kestrel fell in love with (was seduced by) a rebel agent. The engineer does not know that his love is a rebel agent. The confeds found out about the agent, but not the engineer and she "disappears". The engineer takes a vacation to find her. Using his Antinoda connections, the engineer concludes that she was picked up by confed police.

When the engineer defects: Some rebel cruisers will carry 4 lightnings instead of 4 mantas, and the player will be offered a chance to buy the lightning bay on rebel worlds.

When the rebel agent is rescued: A rebel variation of the kestrel will be made available on Palshife at reduced cost, and kestrel frigates will begin operating in the rebel fleet.

When the engineer and the agent are reunited: The engineer defects back, covering his tracks and buying his life with plans for the rebel cruiser. Antinoda security will hunt you around the galaxy-- several pers's and flet's of antinoda warships will hate the player. An upgraded confed frigate carrying a pair of gunboats will enter service. Your status with the confed is reduced.

O.K. I have the best idea! πŸ˜„ Have you ever seen The Net? What if the pirates had that sort of power and sent some of the most dangerous pirates into the Rebel and Confed forces and Admirals and Captains and stuff. While you sneak in and get photographs of them and match them with some of the wanted posters. Then you have to destroy huge pirate fleets consisting of Rebel and Confed Cruisers, until you finally get to your destination! Hows that for ya? πŸ˜„ πŸ˜‰

Mizra, did you see that episode today?

Chief:Watch me wink as I speek
