To replace the Lightnings, go to Altair (or your favorite system for looting pirates), and when a Pirate Kestral appears, disable its Lightnings with three missiles each. When you board them, they are transferred to your Lightning bay, and its off to Akio again. To insure a steady supply of Kestrals+Lightnings; dominate a planet, (Capella is easy, or a Pirate system if you have scruples) then when a bounty hunter bugs you, nab his lightnings and head for Akio.

This would be useful if you're someone who continually loses his ship and would need to replace it often. But for me, the longest time it takes to earn money is when I'm trying to get 10 M for the Kestrel in the first place. After that, you usually won't have too many money problems unless you are having the trouble stated in the beginning of this paragraph.

3 words: CAMP... IN.... DARVEN. Using this, I made 50 million credits, nabbed 3 ships (Rapier with clipper, corvette with rapier, kestrel with corvette) and then improved my legal and combat status all in one swift move. It's a profitable place, because a) there's no jumping involved, b)you can land if something you don't want to fight is in the system, and c) there's a steady stream of pilots. Trust me, it's the best way to make moneyz.
ok first of all, if you are rich enough to have a kestrel, then you probably don't have a lot of money troulbles. And if you are GOOD enough to have a kestrel, then you can just go lunder somehwhere which is ten times easier, and lastly, there is an even EASIER way to get money fast, and it is so simple. Go to Zaxted and buy as much equipment as you can carry at the cost of LOW:240, then go to Diphidia (which is one jump away) and sell your equipment at MED:360, then while in Diphidia buy some Industrial for LOW:160, then go back to Zaxted and sell your industrial there for HIGH:360, or often times HIGHER:540....This is how I buy most of my ships.

If you are in a Clipper go to Cappela and equipe it with haevy rokets (i got 22) . Continuesly plunder lugury(?) liners which have 30-40 grand. One problem WATCH OUT FOR CONFEDS.I did that til i had about 4-500000 cradits dy then things got a little dicey then go to a back water Redel station and plunder Argosys(?), til you can get one. From there you can expand your horizons.

What about the Spica Sol trade route? Buy Medical at any place in Sol and go to Spica and sell it to buy metal. THen back to Sol sell repeat. Or the Rigal- Centuria *sp? run Food and equipment. I make lots on that.

Two words on trade routes:
Spica-Yemuro
It's the same route as the spica-earth, just 2 jumps instead of a bunch of jumps. The only problem is the lack of confed protection, but if you piss off the confeds, it saves you grief.
I note that you don't need a Kestral to do this. You do need the tractor beam, though. After you've disabled the Kestral and one or more of its lightnings, drag the lightnings to the Kestral (cf. the posts on multiple lightnings) and then board the Kestral. If you're lucky, the lightnings will appear as ammo, and you can latch onto them, and sell them (at Akio, Earth, or Evildrome) for .8 Mil each.
Personally, I don't want to know all the best trade routes.
I'm happy with Zaxted to Diphidia. Buy low, sell high, buy low, sell medium.
After all, 3/4 of the game (and 1/4 of the fun) is in trading, especially when you have to avoid pirates in every system as you have 6 freighter escorts.

You know, I get blaimed for posting lots of relevant topics in a row, and perhaps also for opening that topic (bad idea there :)) but in my mind the only people who should be told off by moderators are the ones that either say something or say something designed to upset someone.
I get the impression a string of "hahaha"s is not designed to help someone find a way how to earn lots of money fast, but rather to upset or annoy me.
Which is the exact opposite of why we have this webboard in the first place.
