HEHEHEH- I probably have the worst computer to play EV on. It's a Mac IIsi with approx. 200 meg of hard drive space and 8 (yes, megs of RAM (Which I severely bumped up to 30 using virtual memory). i have an '030 processor which is a calculator compared with today's macs. The computer I use for the internet is actually an IBM :frown:

I'm using a G3 tower, 400mhz, with 256mg of RAM. I normally use it for designing graphics and websites. A 21 inch moniter, with a 40gig hard drive. Our other G3 isn't quite as fast, but it has an 80gig hard drive, which is used primarily for work. I also have an ISDN internet connection, and probably cable (or DSL) soon.

Well the only mac I've played EV on is an LCIII, 8MB ram and 80MB hard drive.. with ram doubler but still takes about 2-3 minutes to load EV, 5-6 to load EVO.. and they eventually caused it to crash nastily. It's a completely different game to playing at normal speed, on a mac emulator at least.. like when you have to take on a bunch of ships the best way to do it was just to take one close up then land each time - I think it was a good wayu to play before playing properly :).
For the past 5 years, it's been a performa 630 which refused to break down, even though it's been through the wars; a macro-virus, a dodgy 4Mb RAM chip (yeah, a full 4meg!), a CD-ROM drive that, more often than not, decided it would impersonate a jet engine starting up rather than actually reading CDs, and a processor that would be hard pushed to beat a hand-held calculator when it comes to adding up numbers. Now I've managed to scrape together enough money to upgrade to.... an iBook SE 466, with 192Mb RAM. Feel the power! Okay, so I can't afford a G4, and I was annoyed that I wasn't able to buy it in Key Lime (darn apple stores...). The first time I started EV up, the loading bar rocketed across the screen, which was... surprising. But nice.
I have a 9500/132 with a Newer tech G4 400 Upgrade card put in it. Voodoo 4500 32mb. 144mb Ram. 2Gig internal, 1.5gig external. 9.1 Gig internal. Running OS 9.1. Running a very cool aqua sceme using power windows so I get the cool Transulcently of windows and menus and opening windows..Yeah thats my system..With a Blazing 44Mhz Bus of course. 60ns 168pin Ram..kicks the 8ns and 10ns of todays ram :p. Thats the biggest downful of upgrading..Is the Bus speed and access time for the ram. The rest of the stuff can be fixed to a extent at least. Oh well oops forgot the machines I work on at work a B/W G3 400 with 256 MB ram. And I get to play with every mac that comes in to get serviced also. Or I have to install ram on new machines.. The cube is a real cool machine. Especially when you plan on it with a 22" Apple Cinema Display. There are two customers interested in the Powerbook G4.. I hope they order them. I so want to play on one of those.

Here we are:
a Mac SE a PowerBook 100 (the only change is a 200MB HD) a PowerBook 190cs a 4400 with 48MB RAM, 6GB HD (actually 5: made two partitions)
Of them only the last two are working perfectly, the others are still with me for i'm a sentimental and do not want ot give them away.
I tried to play EV on the 190 (16MB RAM): impossible! What can i do? Robb a bank to get some good cash to buy the most powerful G4 (Titanium)? Ask for mercy at the nearest AppleStore: hoping to get some old Ram modules? A desperate Rasputiza salutes you.

Well, until resently I used a first edition Imac, but that's in the repair shop for who knows how long.So now I'm using a Performa 6300.Ah well.
------------------ In three words I can sum up all I've learned about life;it goes on
At the moment I play EV and EVO on a G4 tower, back when they were first released, and it had to be downgraded to 350Mmz from 400 because of the Tiawan earthquake back then, but it works fine. Used to play EV etc on an LCIII like MartinZ and huge battles took ages, I remember it taking 4 hours to take out the Dreadnought in EVO, although I was in an Arada. Come to think of it, EV wasn't that bad though. Hardly ever use the LCIII now, because of the tiny screen, well compared to my G4's at least, but I may have to go back to my LCIII to use SchmeltaV, it keeps quitting out (error of type2?) if I make big changes, so I have to save like every minute...damn

My computer is a G4/466, 256 RAM (soon to be 768), 30GB HD, CD-RW, Zip 250. I have a 17" Apple Studio Display (ADC connection) for my monitor. I have my old 266 iMac (6GB HD, 64 RAM) under my desk; I unplug the ethernet cable from the cable modem when ever I need to transfer stuff between the two. Its a nice setup.

Lucky! I have a Powermac 7200/120 (a 601 machine) with 2 4.2 gb hd's (though one has linux on it) 40 mb Ram 2 15" monitors and a 56k modem! I am in a serious speed need (not to mention lack of room on the desktop, 2 15" that doesn't work on everything not to mention that one is 640x480 resolution is just pitiful)!
Other G3! You have two G3's? Lucky dog :frown:

Other G3! You have two G3's? Lucky dog (Which is what I'm on right now) Since you're a plugin developer, you need something faster! I still remember years ago when I used a 56K modem...Yuck. I also have about four old Mac LCs, one Pentium 333, (yuck!) a Mac IIci, a Mac IIsi, and a Power Mac Laptop. (That's what happens when you grow up in a family that likes Macintosh computers.)
100 posts...Good for you!

I'm currently using an iMac/266 with 160MB RAM. Of course, that's only for a couple more weeks until the G4 tower comes in. I also have a 7200/120 (which is currently giving Chimes of Death) and a Quadra 660av.
