That's the webpage address, Marko. Yeah. A maneuverable ship is helpul in that mission.
Speaking of which, too bad that hunter battleship isn't more maneuverable (sounds like a nice cheat plug).
Hey, mCd. what's up? Let's see.... I'm 34 next month  and I've got a baby on the way (within days). Not too much, really, I guess. What's up with you?**
Hey Soul...baby, eh? Nice work. I'm beginning the hellish college application process. I'm sure some of us on this board have plenty of experience with that...that's what currently composes my life: school, and the computer. Hehe.

mCd,
I lived in dorms for four years when I was in college. There was nothing like it in the world. Highly recommended. Occasional studying required..
Later!
Ben
PS: Sorry about the spam, Andrew.

What Pale plug-ins should I have in my plug-ins folder? I've got Pale intro, Pale v1.8 Data 1, paletitles, ZPalev1.8 Data 2, and ZPalev1.9b Data 2. I don't know if those are the files that the latest version consists of either. I'm also wondering if "Mission Patch 1.0" is compatible with Pale. (Its a little plug-in that weeds out the bugs in the Confed and Rebel missions and (snip)
Sorry!
I didn't mean to be rude. All of those plugs go in there. It's been a while since I've looked at the breakdown of the plugs, but I seem to remember that Pale intro has the music in it, Paletitles has the splash screen, Pale v1.8 data 1 and data 2 are the two segments of the plug-in. Zpalev1.9b data 2 is the v1.9 patch.
I think mission patch 1.0 is compatable. I haven't changed any bits from the rebel vs. confed combat missions.
Sorry about the oversight in my last response.
Ok, I didn't word it very well before, but I was just wondering if there was a plug-in in there that i didn't need to us because of another and one of them had a "b" in it and looked like it might be a beta.
Actually, the 1.9b patch is the final version.
It was originally the beta, but it was play-tested and finalized.
I worked on Pale for 20 hours a week for a year and a half before I released just the 1.0 version. Then put another 5 hours a week for the next 8 or 9 months to get it to version 1.9 (tweaking and tuning and such). By the time I got done with v1.9, I was just too burned out to to anything more to it. That's why the 1.9 b is there.
I made an updated 'full release version' of Pale. I think Andrew got a copy of v1.9 (where all files are built to v1.9 - no patch required) and uploaded it to the EV archives section.
Where Senior el Presidente got it is a mystery to me....
Pale and EVGE are right up there together IMHO, Soul. Let us know if it's a boy or girl! Still w/ the Post Office, You still FAA? Mike

Ahem, Pale has the best storyline of any plugin for this game we call Escape Velocity. As a Merchant/Miser, I liked the variety in cargo hauling technologies (Albeit the Opal {jΓΌnk} trade route makes me ridiculously rich, as in 200M+), and I enjoy the amount of detail that went into the development of the background and storyline of this gem of a plug. Cool ships (SDBs are okay, but I prefer my Strike Cruiser), big battles, and finally a subplot for the pirates, make this plug "Ultimate" among the other puny, unrealistic (Hyperdrive sounds like something out of a Larry Niven book.) plugins, so I give you my thanks. Congrats on the off-spring too

Thank for the tips. The trade route mentioned is not referring to the planet Opal, nor is there junk called opals, though that is a good hint. Another hint: this route enhances one of EV's previously most efficient trade routes.
I found I needed to trade junk near the end to purchase the tough expensive ships. (I'll try that strike cruiser...)
Trade tip: the Ore Hauler is the best value for a hired cargo escort (once you've made your first couple million).
Pirate tip: when you've run out of new pirate missions, dominate a planet then check the bars to get access to that giant pirate ship you've seen around the fringes.
