Plug-ins?

well, One of my friends just down loaded EV , but one of his plugin ins work would he need to register to make them work thank you
Victor and Joeseph

in english please?

I assume that it is one of the super-ultra-lame-sucky-shareware-plugins where you send the author an extortionate ammount of money and they send you a pathetic PoS in return.

If the plugin needs regestering, dont bother. Register EV though, but I cant talk as that is still on my long list of "things to pay for" along with most of the rest of my software... 😉

As for plugins, try EVGE, Pale and Final Battle to name but a few.

Try the Eye of Orion plug-in, too. It's good!

Ok thank you, but his plug-in is Clavius And Beyond 3.2s and it does not work, like when it says go to a mission log and get a calvis cleaner #### mission there is no mission called that. Also how would get the not censerd one cause he got the kids plugin. like we said in the begging would he need to register EV to get the plugins to work thank you
Victor and Joeseph

No, EV is unrestricted when unregistered. Are you sure you don't need to get the mission at a specific place?

Ok, sounds like it may be time for some basics.

1. Read the documentation which comes with the plug-in. Follow the instructions.

2. Put the plug itself, and only the plug, not the entire folder, into the Folder marked EV Plugins. That's not a storage bin; don't put anything else in there.

3. Make sure there is a copy of EV Tuner in the EV Plugins folder also.

4. Start a new pilot with each new plugin. Trying to re-use them can cause all sorts of strange behaviors.

Your messages are getting incoherent. You really should get some grammar lessons, stop typing really fast, or do anything, something, whatever, because, dammit, it gets harder and harder to remain sane after reading your messages.

What does EV Tuner do anyway? I haven't been able to tell the difference with it in and out of the Plugins folder.

So why does one need it/why does it exist outside of EV data?

So we would know where to put extra resources. That way, we could make plug-ins. If it wasn't there we would havta look into the app and search around for the right codes to make an EV plug-in.

Its just like EVO's "Sample Plug-in"

Just to show you what the codes to a plug-in is.

The plug format isn't all, actually.
A while ago, EV Tuner DID actually contain resources that were important. As such, the "Read Me's" for a lot of plug ins said "remove all plugs from the Plug Ins folder except for EV Tuner" - I suspect Ambrosia just kept EV Tuner like it is to avoid confusion over it not being there.

When EV boots up, it looks for it in the plug-in folder, its part of the data fork (source code)...
