Color Depth Settings

Avara doesn't seem to want me to switch to 256 colors when I start it and I use my computer in Millions. Does running at a higher color depth effect performance in multiplayer? I have done a few tests, but with no conclusive results since in single player Avara runs fine on my 75 MHZ 601 (of course with the exception of those levels that were designed by people with G4s and therefore contain about 120 times as many polygons as my computer can handle).

Avara was made, I believe, to function in millions of colours. To the best of my knowledge, playing it that way will not decrease speed at all (though you might need to give it a bit more memory). Indeed, if you're trying to play it in 256 colours, you're missing something. Go ahead and just play at the depth you like to keep your system at.

I mean right now I do play it in millions, I'm just seeing if 256 makes things faster. Ram isn't a problem because my computer has 72 MB.

So that's good news, I've always wondered about that.
