Could someone give me some strategies on how to beat this level? It is extremely hard.

Be very agressive, and always protect any bunkers you get. Also, don't attack enemy (red on radar, not blue) bunkers until you have an assault transport on the way.

If the enemy captures a single bunker station, you're pretty much screwed.
I say go for both flak drones quickly, then launch your ATRs after you let the Carrier soften up the bunkers before you swing in and kill it. Then you have all four strategic locations, and their ATRs can't get past the first flak drone to take any stations.
remember: 1. Flak Drones 2. Carrier 3. Bunkers

I have had trouble with that level too. I found that a good strategy is to go in and get enemy ships to follow you into your flak drone. You can kill a lot without getting hurt.

Step 1: Build an Engineering Pod. Send it to the Flak drone. Step 2: Build an ATR. Send it to nearest station. Step 3: Build Gunship. Take out nearest station. Step 4: If no enemy forces near station 2, take it as well as one. If you do this, you basically win. Step 5: Whenever you get enough resources, build Cruisers/Guns and target them to station 1(in case you have captured 2, send them, there...). Step 6: Hyper to his planet, and wipe his fleet out with superior numbers. If you have less ships than him, launch your ships at the planet only when he is attacking the stations.
With me, this has never failed. But then again, I have been playing games like this since I was 6...

I was just stuck on this one for almost a week, but I finally beat it.
Here's what I did:
1. Build an engineerign pod and send it to the near Flak Drone 2. After you've given all the orders or that, build a Gunship to escort you. 3. Warp directlly to the first Cantharian ATS, while your Gunships being buit, and destroy it. 4. Warp to the sendon ATS. By now, the Canthareans wil have caught on to what you're doing and will send a Cruiser or two, maybe a gunship, to escort it, but your gunship should be done by now. 5. Wait for the Cantharean Carrier to soften up Bunker Station 1. Build another Gunship and 2 Cruisers, and an ATS. Attack the Bunker Station and capture it. Building Cruisers and Gunships as you go, make 3 Gunships and 4 Cruisers protect the Station. Also, destroy any ATS the Cantharians build yourself, but don't bring an escort because they will need to guard the bunker stations. 6. This was the part where I single-handedly had to disable Bunker Station 2. I didn't have time to get myself an escort, because the Canthareans were coming. By the time the big Cantharean fleet came, I was ready though, with an Obish battle ship and bunch or Gunship/Cruisers. 7. Once you have a secure foothold on the first Flak Drone and both Bunker stations, it is prety hard to lose. Once you have all four strategic points, it's nearly impossible to lose.

I have finnaly beat level 12 for the 2and time. I beat it by building a gunship transfering control to it then building an engineer pod and sending it to the flak drone. I then built about 6 more cruisers and hypered to the cantharian planet and taking out any ships who challenged me. I kept on sporadically fighting and building more cruisers untill the destroyer was build (the cantharians were too busy with me too haras the cargo ships. Then I sent all my ships to the planet and pioleted a transport around the flak drones and bunker stations to the planet.
So "the guillitine" does work for Make Way...
And I finally found someone else who figured it out.

Oh, yeah. The Battleship doesn't really matter, it's only a carrier without fighters.

It is a great ship if you need a lot of firepower, it has tons of it. It traded its fighters for the ability to move, it can actually gain its own momentum without having to go into light drive.

I totally agree. The major problem with carriers are that they can't move around very well. THe fighters don't make that much difference. The battleship gets rid of the fighters to make the battleship pretty manuverable.
Meh, don't say fighters are worthless. For although they appear to be, testing highly suggests otherwise...
