I've been spending about an hour decoding the lettering on the Ishiman briefings, and I'll post my findings here. Big warning: There is no difference between an Ishiman S and T, and an Ishiman B and J. Other than that and a couple phonetic differentiations, it's all English in their letters. It should also be noted that sometimes the Ishimans abbreviate a name to its first four or eight letters.
If you want to figure it out for youself, continue looking at a new clue until you have all the letters. If not, I'll have a (url="http://"http://caalaklael.tripod.com/cheatsheet")cheatsheet(/url) available within a couple days.

Actually, I just noticed it accidentally- that the second word in the Ishiman cruiser and the second word in the Gaitori cruiser were the same. Then I noticed a bunch of other stuff which just couldn't be coincidental, at sat down to study it. On a Sunday too
Note: Do NOT translate the smaller writing on the Gaitori fighter. Trust me.
OK, now that is sick! Report to the medical bay immediately for a complete brain wipe.

Aagh! Now I have to find out what "Gaitori fighter" translates to! If you hadn't mentioned it, then I would not translate it. If you don't want sonebody to do something, tell them to do it. If you want them to do something, then tell them not to.

I can't seem to translate the smaller writing on the Gatori fighter. Too small. Too blurred. What does it say? (I WOULDN'T have tried to translate it except you talked about it)
However, the bigger writing on the Gatori Fighter looks like "Have a Ham Sandwhich"!
I also just translated the big letters above the orbital shipyard thing, and it says: Urbital Shipyard. Not exactly good grammar, but that's what is says according to Pallas Athenes translation.

It doesn't show it in the actual game, but there is one. Check the Ares Scenarios file using ResEdit or Resorcerer.

Pallas, I have the font to that Ishiman lettering. I saw it on the EV boards once.... Once I get the internet up in my house I'll give you the font and post a key.
