Facing angle

Does anyone know if there is a way to make so that the player faces another direction than north when he his teleported to a map ? 'Cause I'm making a game and it's quite stange when the player goes south on a map and faces north when he arrives on the other one. And no, I could not, in this case, make so that when the player reaches the south of the 1st map he goes to the other one.

So if someone could help, it would be appreciated.

No way to do that. It's an animation that begins with the "north frames", so it begins on the first frame.

If you use the teleport, then no. At least I haven't tried to change it.

I find, though, that when people have looked at my game and played what I have so far, they just accept how the Player is facing. As if they don't really notice.

Well then ok. I'll simply leave it as it is...
Anyway, thanks for the info...

If you teleport into a map, the player will face north, but if you walk from one map to another across the boundry between them, the player will be facing in the direction he was going in the last map.

To set this up correctly, go to locations folder and open "defs" folder (definitions.) Now select the tab marked "Additional" and on the bottom of the editor you will be able to select where the map connects to. Now when the player walks south into another map, the new map opens with the player on its north edge looking south.

Yeah, I knew that. But If I made that in some of my maps, the player would end up in the forest and would not be able to move... so that's not appropriated... I COULD re-make the map... but I'm to lazy 😛

I'll probably use it in my other maps though.

If you've got forest in one map, shouldn't it extend into the next map as well? I would think that you would want to plan for that. When I have the trunk of a tree on the north edge of an map the crown of the tree is on the south edge of the map directly above it. That's the only way it looks right to me.

Somehow I can't imagine what the game will be like if the developer is too lazy to take care of details like that.

As I said in another topic, I make a try game using the PoG graphics. Also, when I made those 2 maps, I was thinking if they were positioned like that :

l A l
l_____l
11__
l B l
l_____l (11 is the way between the two maps)

So the forest DO continue but the 2nd map wasn't made for the player to start from the north east as it would if he continued with border links.

I hope you understand.

(EDIT) : Ah my drawing did not work as I wanted. Anyway that was a square (a map...) from wich an "arrow" came from the south-east and was going to the north-west of the other one. Anyway.
