I have completely lost faith in Beenox building an update to Coldstone, and without the source code to Coldstone I will not be able to do anything about it. So I have decided to switch to useing Realbasic to Build Legends in. Do not quote me on this but I have decided to try to rebuild Coldstone in a newer version of Realbasic. Although it most likely will not be compadible with the current Coldstone because I have no idea what format some of the files are compiled in. Please note I AM TRYING TO DO THIS, so I might not be able finish it. I would like to ask if anyone here knows enough about C++ to help me out?

Would Java be of any assistance?

You might be able to build a game engine. You would not be able to call it "Coldstone" or "Coldstone II" or any such derivitive. It would not be able to use any graphics from the Coldstone Art Lib. It would not be able to make any PoG plugins. In short, it would be of no use to me because my primary focus is on plugins. Furthermore, you would not be able to use this web board because it is no longer related to Coldstone or Ambrosia.
This topic is short-lived here. I suggest that anyone interested in joining you should email you rather than posting here. AmbrosiaSW is not interested in hosting competition. For the moment, I will tolerate reactions to your idea but any posts relating to how to go about this will, by necessity, be deleted. Other moderators may decide that I, in fact, have been too lenient. We shall see. ~RD

Well the reason I posted this here was because I believed it to be beneficial to the Coldstone Community. We are not all builders of plugins for PoG so, RD, this post is not directed at you. Simple question why wouldn't it be capable of using the Coldstone Art lib? I don't plan on stopping people that want to use the Coldstone Art lib. As for not being related to the web board I have though about possibly offering to let Ambrosia sell it.
Cl-la0s I do you know if Java is capable of building a game engine? With Realbasic I plan on building the front end that everyone sees and builds their program with. I would need Java to build the engine that reads the files that realbasic made and build them into a working game. please comply with RD and send reply with an email. my email address is Graham@vhpublications.com

Very bluntly. You are talking about building a game engine to compete with Coldstone. Beenox owns Coldstone. Beenox owns the artwork. You cannot use that artwork in any other application, your own included. Anyone who uses anything from the Coldstone files in a different application is breaking the law.
Until such time, should it ever occur, that Ambrosia buys the right to distribute your software and sets up a new forum for the GVH Game Engine, any indepth discussion of this competing product has no place on Ambrosia's web board.
Whether or not it is of interest to members of the Coldstone community is of no consequence. This forum is limited to topics related to Coldstone and users of that software. I'm sorry (because I really would like to see you succeed) but there is no way to rationalize your way around that. ~RD
RD is absolutely correct in all aspects. You've written the post, you've given your email address, and it's enough.
Perhaps someone else on a board other than that owned by Ambrosia will take you up on a discussion, but that will have to be handled by email. I wish you the best of luck, but any discussion will not be on Ambrosia's forum.
Meanwhile, it's our responsibility to ....
