I have just made a brilliant map interface and a mask to go with it. I put them in CS and set the game area up. I start my game and it ends up not working. I can see the boundaries of the Game area as there is black around it. But my map interface does not show up. Help. Please

Mine did that when there was nothing wrong with the interface itself. But an event before the interface loaded was messed up. Do you have races, classes, name entry? If so, take them out one at a time to check if they're okay. What's your main.cet like? Had that worked before? Can you give us any more information?
If it is your interface, are you sure it's 72.00 dpi? Also, I think that it has to be a certain size, like 460 x something or something like that.

I've re-made the Main event - didn't work I've turned off the name entry dialog (I'm not using the others) - didn't work I've check the resolution - It is 72 dpi
The size of it is 800x600. I have tried both the mask and the map interface with pct and png files. I'm still stuck.
Can you tell me exactly what you have in the main.cet?
(edit) Could you make a copy of your interface, then reduce it down to 640 x 480 and try that? The only thing that I can see is about this is that the engine may make that ratio a requirement for the option for a full display.

Switch it to:
Attribute Map Position Teleport
Then in the right column: Teleport to same map (don't ask me why; I don't know. I just know that that's what the medieval main.cet does and I can't work it any other way.)
Doesn't work. It worked with the medievil map interface and using the same main event

Sometimes you actually have to create a new game, make it medieval. Then in the Finder drag the main.cet into your own game and change the specs. But you said that it worked with the medieval interface? Please try above.
it still doesn't work. I don't know if this is any help but when I save the pct file in photoshop it comes up with some options. I save it as 32 bits and with a high JPEG compression. Would that affect it?
Yes, it very well could, Pilky. Save as pct file in 24. Nothing jpg. If that doesn't work, save as a png file.
IT WORKED. it was the jpeg compression. Thank You.
Yay! Whew! You're most welcome!

My mistake. Noted. Also, your game does sound interesting. In fact, it sounds like a lot like what I had in mind, a LOT like it. I guess great minds think alike, huh? Well, a least my great minds do....... (Looking over his post, Zerowarrior questions if it seems concited) "........Nah!"

Ha! RD! That's funny! My best friend will tell you just how NOT SMART Ph.D.s are!!!! I seriously lack common sense, as she'll point out day after day after day after day .....
Hey, Zero, didn't sound conceited to me!! Having fun is a fun thing(!). I just hate being called Miss anything. I'm sorry. You're terrific!!!
How come almost all intelligent people lack Common sense? I'm intelligent but I have as much common sense as a gold fish, maybe even less!!!

If that's true, Then I have LOADS of common sense!

The intelligence uses up too much of the brain, and is shoved in there too quickly. Therefore, things that are expendable get squished out. In the case of many people, it's the common sense part. In others, social skills, and in a small micority, ability to do unecessary actions... like breathing. As you can guess, you don't see those people much.
And this is all PURE scientific LAW. If you question it you're a complete nutcase.... um, or maybe it was the other way around... I don't know... my intelligence seems to have pushed out the memory :D.
Oh wait, now I remember. I don't know the real reason.
