If you can't tell from the subject, CS doesn't want to build a release of my game. It pauses with a window that says, "Compressing game data..." and it just stays there. This is at school (with the demo; we have to get another copy to make it "legal"), so the that may be a factor, though it was working recently (two days ago...). Anyone have any thoughts?
School comp is 10.2.8, 400 mHz iMac, 128 (i think) RAM.
EDIT: Be clear and concise...

The demo version got a 10 sec delay before it builds the game, if that is the problem. Otherwise you should perhaps reinstall coldstone or try posting on the "support forum" (if there is one )
Good luck

Yes, I know of the cursed 10 second delay (which occurs twice at each compilation, btw), however, this occurs after that, when the Compiling window usually just vanishes. Apparently it performs some task (Compressing game data...), however, CS seems to end up getting stopped there. Where's Tarn when you need him?
NOTE: This isn't cause he is the only one who knows anything about CS, but he seems to be the CS for OS X expert
EDIT: I clicked submit and then reliazed i had a typo, such a pain... (did you catch that )
I tried to compile a copy of my game, had the same problem. I decided to not compress the picture data and it worked fine. Compiled in about 10 minutes. Try that.

What options do you click when you hit build release?
edit: Are they teaching Coldstone at your school?

Just Mac OS and Mac OS X release, no compressing picture data.

Nope, I founded a club to make a computer game by the end of the year, and as I have some CS experience it has become my tool of choice

I'd email david dunham at help@ambrosiasw.com with this problem.
Sadly, I can't do the same. My school is mostly only PCs. I live in everyone hates Apple but me vill.
So do I, but since we just recently made the switch we have some semi-old (iMac) comps around that I set up and administer myself. I pretty much AM the Mac admin, usergroup, and tech support. Anyway, I don't think the demo issue will be much of an issue once we get registered (my tech teacher faxed, so I don't know how long it takes them to answer those...). I'll report back once I have the full version.
Honestly, I think this is a hidden bug that no one has 'reported' yet. It is not just OSX that does this, 9.2 reacts the same way. Although in all honesty, I believe that it is best to work on the game in OSX, and then switch startup drives, boot up in 9 (not the emulated version that they let you use in OSX) and compile it there. I find that even though it has the same problems Coldstone has elsewhere, sometimes, it does things correctly. I've tried to compress game data about probably ten times now, and it has worked three times. You really do not need to compress data if you save for web when in photoshop, and crunch down the size in graphic converter, and that should be it with compressing data. You can't get that small now . Good luck!

The problem is not when I compress pictures, but whenever I build a release. If you have any ideas on this please tell me. It IS with the demo, so I think this may be part of the reason, though I'm not sure.
Anyway, I should get the registered version in a few days (Please by tuesday!) and all should be fine then.
EDIT: You can all groan now. I was using the admin account and building into the game account (I made a special account just for our club) when I had only read permission. Fixed now. I guess the lack of an error message (grrrrr...) through me off. Oh well, problem solved.

So... you don't need me then after all?
I was about to suggest a possible permissions error too. Ah well. Good to hear it got fixed... and good luck with the project
