Hi All, Now that I've allowed the purgative to take effect and am feeling 40 (or 50) years younger, I must let my hormones take over and put in my requests for Coldstone dialog... Not, mind you, what I would like to see in Coldstone, but simply how to communicate such.
It is not satisfactory to have one-way posted wants/likes or to receive notes that 'your desires are being studied'.
There should be reasonable discussion of implemented strategies... Does this sound like a 10:00 AM meeting? It is... at home. After contemplation. At whatever time. After all, it IS a game engine and no one knows to what end it will be used.
Actions and responses of players and characters will be limited (by AI and technology) but the Universe can be wide open.
Design tools... what, how, whose.
Two, two.five, or three dimensional views. Myth or Realmz or middle ground.
Limitations on items, spells, attributes, # of playing characters and NPC's.
Player abilility to recover from 'bad' choices.
The role of 'God' as creator. How can the 'user' of Coldstone punish or reward the player?
All this sounds like a wish list but it isn't in fact. Simply a request for dialog (or tri/quada/etc.) on such topics. And whatever else comes up.

Not that I would know, but what I gather from Coldstone is that it is incredibly open ended. In other words, it's not what features it supports, it's what features YOU decide to implement. Think of it less like an editor and more like a programing laungage with an interface.
Then again, I may be gibbering pure bannana oil, because these are all pure guesses.

You mention that you would like a Myth style RPG. in beta 8.1 Coldstone was VERY good at doing that. Infact, the sample files provided were in a sort of Myth styll. If you want to create a Myst game though, you should get Hypercard.
