Bug?

I'm not sure whats going on but when i go into map making for my game it says.

Runtime Failure: Failed Assertion. Please report what caused this error, along with the information below:

array.cpp:68

Any one have any ideas.

I haven't seen this bug before; there is only one similar to it on the board that I can find, and no answer there either.

Let's get the basic information first, however:

  1. What version of Coldstone are you running? 1.0 or 1.0.1?
  2. What OS are you running Coldstone under?
  3. What exactly are you doing to produce this error? Does it pop up just by loading the map editor? Or do you do something within the map editor to cause this problem?

Speaking of bugs.
Sometimes I have a bug that crashes my whole computer.
It is something about coldstone not being able to find the picture file.
An error keeps coming up and when I press OK it comes up again. When I force quit my whole computer bombs.
This is with an unregistered version of 1.0.1 running in OS 9.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Try adding more memory to coldstone, that seemed to fix the problem for me.

1)1.0
2)OS 10.2.6
3)Just going into the map editor causes this problem. But eveytnig Appears before the window Pops up and says Error Ect I posted it above.

Get (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/show.pl?product=coldstone&category;=essentials&display;=date&file;=coldstone_update.sit")the Coldstone 1.0.1 update(/url). There's no reason not to, and it fixes some fairly major bugs - possibly including the one you're experiencing.

Yeah, I have and these were the two reasons why it happened:
1. You were working with an animation file with a certain name, let's just call it (EXAMPLE). now if you hide Coldstone for a minute and alter the names of the files for that animation (Now say to EXAMPLE.PNG).Now back into Coldstone, it will keep showing you what files were changed when you go back to the animation. The reason why it keeps showing up for ten minutes is beacuse of each file that was changed. Have the patience to click through the screens for a few minutes. and then I think there is a way to update the animation picture file links within the animator.
2. While in the Finder, you were moving folders containing files from your game around or bringing in too many new files to the root game folder for Coldstone to handle. Simply wait until 'the screens' pass, quit out of Coldstone, and then open it back up again.
It should be either of those two. If it's someting other than this, then I'm not exactly sure what, and I'll tinker around when I got a minute and find out exactly what's the case. I hope I have been of some service to you.

Alright, we've got the basic information so ASW tech support should be able to help pin it down. I'm moving this thread to Help is on the Way for Mr. Dunham to take a look at.

David, so you won't have to run up and down this thread looking for the pertinent info, here is a recap:
