It has been disabled for a short period of time. The search feature uses up a lot of resources on ASW's servers(there is a lot of info on the boards to search through everytime a search is performed). ASW recently released a new product called WireTap and their servers were hammered with people downloading it.
So it because a question of priority. Obviously for ASW their products are a higher priority than these web boards. So the resource hogging search function was disabled so that users can download products. I expect that when the number of downloads slow back down to a manageable level that the search feature will be reinstated.

Funny. I can't seem to find any reference to wiretap, could you mean "Uplink"? (only beacuse I'm REALLY curious.)

Yes. I had nothing but green one day, then they all to red the next. They stayed that way until about five days ago now.
