Hi,
I tried to install the "step by step" tutorial, and somehow ( ? ) failed.
I am using the download version of Coldstone ( which I have registered ) and the downloaded tutorial.
I followed the ( very simple ) instructions, and placed the Tutorial directory in the Wizards directory, and the PDF file in the Docs directory.
When I use "create new game", and enter ( according to the instructions ) "data" with the target as "MyProject", I get the project type selection window. In this window there are only the three original items listed, "Empty", "Medieval" and "Plugin". "Tutorial" is missing from this list.
Has anyone experienced this ? Is there a solution ? Or does the tutorial not work with the download version of Coldstone ?
My version of Coldstone is 1.0.1
Regards, Tor

Hi. I'm pretty sure that you're supposed to choose Medieval.

Hi Debra,
The Tutorial PDF reads:
Click on the ?Next? button to proceed to the next step. You must now select a game style from the list. Select the ?Tutorial? style and click the next button. Follow the next steps to the end.
So, I'm a bit uncertain

Go ahead and select medieval and see what happens...
I think that is what you're supposed to do, but I never did go through the tutorial... heh.

Of course I can copy the contents of the Tutorial folder to the correct place, but "real" way ought to work ? **
One would think.
But then, you're going to run into another error in a bit when it tells you to build your game and run it and you're going to get a funky error because you need to do a few more steps in the tutorial before the game will run. Heh.
The tutorial is filled with errors, unless it has been corrected recently.
Uhm... D'oh !
Then I'll just have to sleep on it and continue tomorrow
Guess I'll just have to bug y'all with dumb questions instead
Until later, and a good night to you all ( at 01:07 GMT ) Tor

No worries. We'll be here for you.
Hi ! I have too some problems with the Tutorial !
It seems that it lacks some data : for instance the event startgame...
Should I use the Medieal Projecy Type or s there some way of fixing it (for instance by picking events in other games)
Bye
Gerryx
The tutorial dose work. It will direct you to build the StartGame.cet in the next few paragraphs it just PORLY written. They tell you to build and play a COUPLE of time at start BEFORE the game even has the REQIURED ELEMENTS. but if just keep reading it will continue and straighten its self out.

Mr. Gerryx,
Welcome to the boards! Thank you for registering.
No worries, I'm glad you got things to work. Feel free to post any other questions you have. Yes we prefer that you try things yourself first, but feel free to ask questions at any time. No use reinventing the wheel or spending hours tackling a problem that someone else has already experienced/solved.
Good luck.
