thoeretical question with a tank and npc

i was wondering if this was possible,

ive made a tank and would like it to behave a certain way in the game but im not sure it will work so pending wether i can i was going to make the graphics one way or another.

what i want the tank to do is run around on a prescripted track like a npc in a town in pog right, then i want its turret to turn wherever you are on screen and be able to fire. can this be done by somehow attaching the enemy turret with no movement to a npc tank body that is moving? or something of the like? that way i can make the vehicles look smart or drive a certain way? then have a thing where if you blow the turret (enemy) the tank (npc) dissapears after explosion?

i wanted to try this instead of just having all vehicles make a b line for you.

you know i had gotten oh so far with writing aa response to this, when i realized that you can't change/control the appearance of an NPC based on variables or evvents you can only kill/replacee it with another...

Hmmmmm.... A swivel top...
Ok. I have a wild idea. Make the NPC the swivel turret top (8 directional), and make the bottom (8 directional). Then when the NPC. When the NPC walks right have it call en event that places the stamp so that the turret is in the middle (you'll need some math). It won't be perfect, but I think (depending on how CS does attack animations) it might work. If you have to be facing left to attack left, this is all pointless. A tricky problem. If my idea works or you find another way, share the solution. It could be useful 🙂
