I ve finally made the turn-based battle engine following EllR'X's tutorial... though one thing didn't work it's almost like the FF battle mode (ellr'x, if you read this, e-mail me if you want to know what works and what doesn't... although, for what doesn t work, this might just be my misunderstanding of some part of your tutorial ) Second, I'm building a castle for the hero to use just like in Suikoden 2..; you'll have your very own castle, with the possibility to add some rooms which will allow the player to have a weapon shop, items shop and so on in his castle... right now, All I have made about the castle is the graveyard... see the screenshots section on my website, and tell me what you think of it (url="http://"http://darkrising.free.fr/")http://darkrising.free.fr/(/url)

hey does the ellrx turn based battle engine work like ogre battles? forgive me but for some reason i never liked the way the FF games played but i really liked games like ogre battle and front mission 3 etc. what im asking i guess is:
1. you have a overhead map, your crusin around, you run into a enemy and that takes you to a battle screen. right?
2. how does the combat work itself out? aka who gets 1st turn? can you dig into your items list and whip out magical items?
3. can you fight multiple enemies when sucked into a battle like a party? and if so can you target individual enemies while in this combat phase? i noticed multiple enemies in kamashins game shots so i was wondering.
4. any thoughts on if you could somehow include a party on your side instead of just one guy?
i love this style of turn based game like ogre battle, and after making the current game im working on, maybe a sequel, this turn based engine dealy sounds very appealing.

As it is, you can equip whatever you want as long as its your turn...currently the only time your turn is over is when you;attack,defend or cast...**

This is great. Once you have the turn-based installed are you going to rerelease the demo and allow us to test it out? I know that the graphics are just place holders, but I would love to test out the turn based system.

well... Sure you can be a beta tester... however, I don t know when I'll release a beta 'cause I m far from reaching even the beta stage... (it's more like an archi-alpha or even zeta for now... lol)... there is only a part of one map that can make you "engage" a battle, lots of graphics are missing, there are no spells yet, no NPCs, no quests(because quests requires NPCs and items), I'm missing yet almost all of the items, and only 1/5 of the maps has been made... uaaah so much to do, so little time... if you really want to see what the battle engine looks like, I can upload a small demo with what has been done... though you might be a bit disappointed because of what's missing... just tell me...
I would love to see what has been done so far..battles and all. I'm still writing my script for my game.
