Help!!! I was testing my game, and whenever I go to a map location, the screen gets lines all over it. The lines are like repeats of the last line at the top of the screen, and they dissapear when the player moves over them, or when a box of some sort (dialog, stats, etc.) opens, but as soon as you move, they come back. Has anyone aelse had this problem? and how can I fix it. I have no idea whats causing it.
thanx
Possible scenarios;
you have transitioned from a mainLocation to a mapLocation, and your loading dialog does not cover the entire area of the screen, and/or you are not using a fade transition....if this is the case either use a fade effect or ensure that the loading dialog covers the entire area of the screen.
you have gaps inbetween your tiles, that allow the voided area(black area) to eek through, if you are using png graphics with soft transparencies you'll notice the jaggies appear on all visible images, however if you are using pict graphics it would be less subtle...this coupled with the first anomaly could possibly create your bug.
i'll have to rattle off some snapshots later today.

Hi. This happened to me when I made the stonebridge graphic as a png file. I changed it to a pct file and things looked normal. Hope this helps.
Make sure the map sizes match and the no-access tiles mirror each other if the maps butt up against each other.
