IGNORANCE BEGINS/ Ok, I have been so frustrated by this level that I'm finally going to post something - How do you beat Space Race: The Musical? I know this is rehashing an old topic, but someone on the old thread had the same problem that I'm having, which is not being able to finish the level after all the Gaitori ships are dead. No one responded to him, and I've always had the same problem. Is there something I'm missing? IGNORANCE HOPEFULLY ENDS

There is no condition for the level to end, so it doesn't end.

In that case, it's the easiest level I've ever seen. I don't have to do anything, I can just let the comps duke it out and I always win. It seems like there should be more.
It wasn't intended for being played. The level is perfectly set up for the computer to play, which is what it was intended to be.
Why would someone go to the trouble to make a level with only the computer in mind that's impossible to beat or lose at?
Or... are you just speculating?

In case you didn't realise, Space Race: The Musical is one of the demos which plays if you leave Ares sitting there. You're not meant to be playing it at all, just some people have hacked it so that you can.

To beat the level, you must destroy all of the Gaitori ships, without taking any losses. Then, there is a field of secret Salarian outposts to the northeast. Destroy these, before they can build anything. Capture them. Then build transports to take over the cloaked planet on the far south. You must do this without taking any losses. Not a single one.
So, once someone has done this, let me know, because I have yet to kill the Gaitori without losses, I have not found the Sal outposts, and the planet is safely in enemy hands. Good luck

I've actually wondered if "no losses" was a clause regarding the levels' completion. I will give it a go, and see if I can't figure something out. I hope you're not pulling my chain, nobody, because I think SA knows what he's talking about in most cases. (Although I sometimes wonder if perhaps he isn't as forthcoming with certain information as he could be)
Anyway, thanks for the info everyone.

You're cruel man.
Hmmm. I doubt ANYBODY could perform that feat without cheats. Now people are going to try and try until they rip their hair out. Cruel, indeed.
I once changed all the Gaitori ships into Human ships. The level's damn hard then.

Gaitori vs Obish makes for a particularly good battle on that level.

Yes! I have gotten my losses down to just 1 fighter! I don't know if I can do any better, though. I don't expect any secret Sal bases, but it's fun to try for anyway.
Somebody???

I beat the level with just my heavy destroyer and gunships once, but it took a lot of time and an awful amount of hyperspacing.
i know its a little late to say this but.... you can play Space Race : the Musical??? How?? (if this counts as asking for a cheat i can honestly say i have beat the game legit, so please tell me.)

You can mouse the prefs, but I've forgotten the details on how to do that, or you can use Hera.

Space Race is actually a simple clean cut mission, easy to beat and almost impossible to lose at. However, you can have loads of fun with it. It is one of the only levels in which you can have loads of fun while still completing the mission.
