Ok...I start up my game. It shows the loading screen. Then it sits there in black. What's wrong? I know the location has to be the same name as the picture, and I know that works because the picture preview shows...I have the StartGame event which teleports the character to the main screen. I also have a define user control for it.
Phew...that was exausting!

Are you sure that the image is in the correct format, the correct resolution and colour settings? Check all of those first, and then let me know.

Yes, it is in PNG with extension .png at the end.
**The correct resolution?
Yes, the image is in 72dpi.
**And Colour settings?
I am not sure about this. Do you mean 16-bit? How do I change my image to 16-bit?

Mr. SSJ6Gohan,
Just about any graphics program should do the trick. (url="http://"http://www.graphicconverter.net/us_index.html")GraphicConverter(/url) works very well for this.
Anyhow, open up your picture in your graphics program and do a "Get Information" to get all the pertinent info. Look at the color depth; it should say something like 16-bit colors, or 8-bit, etc. You want the depth to be 16-bit. There is usually a command called something like "Colors" or "Change color depth." Locate this command, select you want the picture to be 16-bit, and the program will convert it. Then save your picture and you should be all set. Just make sure that you put the converted picture in the directory of Coldstone that you need to place it in, so you will be using the converted picture and not the older unconverted picture!
Good luck

Thanks! That helped me as well!

Hmm, interesting. So do I have to buy it? Or can I dl it?

Oops...nevermind, I'm downloading now!
Argh...It still doesn't want to show up. :frown: Mabye it is my event? I have the StartGame event with the teleport action as I told you before...
(PS I wish Coldstone would TELL  you what the requirments are for pictures!)
(PPS This is a waste of a 30 day trial! )

Is your file extension correct? If it is in PNG format, then it must end with .png. If that doesn't work, convert it to PICT using GraphicConverter and make sure that the extension is .pct. Also check that you actually have the picture file named exactly the same as it's parent location file, and make sure said picture is in the Locations>Pics folder.
Also, Coldstone does tell you what the graphics requirements are. It's in the manual file, the Coldstone Manual.pdf that comes with the demo download. And in reference to it being a waste of a trial, did it ever strike you that the trial is free? No matter what you do, he thirty days trial doesn't cost you a cent. How can it therefore be a waste of a trial? If you read the manual, straytoasters FAQ, and the Startup Requirements List, you should have little trouble at all in doing basic things, and for the more complicated things, that's what we're for.
Please post more appropriately in the future. Next time I might have to be more harsh.

Just thought I'd link them for you.

I don't know if this is any thing to do with it but have you got all the interface items loaded in game options?
Yep, all the ones I'll be using anyway.
(I'm not making armor or weapons or spells-my game is hand-to-hand combat.)

Karma rewards and penalties are usually a semi-private type of thing; ie, you get an e-mail message from the moderator who adjusted your karma and usually explains why.
Questions regarding the reasons that your karma was adjusted should be sent to the moderator who did the adjustment. On this board the moderators who are most active would be (url="http://"http://mailto:andiyar@ihug.com.au")Tarnćlion Andiyarus(/url), (url="http://"http://mailto:sethclaus@damnsw.net")theGlueBubble(/url), and (url="http://"http://mailto:jackhyde@damnsw.net")the Necromican(/url)(I haven't seen (url="http://"http://mailto:sanehatter@postsomnia.com")Sanehatter(/url) in a long while). I would recommend mailing the one who adjusted your karma, or if you don't know, mailing them all. They will usually respond if you ask nicely, as one of the intentions of karma adjustment is to move a person to become a better poster.
But the overall point of this is that asking publicly why your karma was lowered typically isn't a good idea. The moderators might respond, but since they didn't make a public proclamation of your karma lowering then they probably wouldn't care to make a debate out of it.
Anyhow, just consider this a piece of friendly advice. Do with it as you wish.

Ok, ok! Enough about karma...I need to know if you need a general and/or local event link in the mainscreen location.
