Hey guys. I know, you probably all think that this question is dumb and easily answered, but here goes: I am making an RPG in which theres a newly built farm. This farm was unknowingly built by a cave-tunnel that houses a band of rouges. What i wanted to do is that, the first time you arrive, the farm is messed up, and overrun by the rouges. You run through and kill the rouges, save the farmworkers, and defeat the boss. So next i want it to be that, when you leave and go back to the farm, all the workers are working dilligently and the farm is back in order, no rouges, blah blah blah. So, heres the question: I made it so that, to enter the farm, you went to the border of a location (you know, in the location window with the north south east west border thing) and it took you to the farm. However, unless you killed the boss, it took you to the invaded farm, not the straightened out one. So what i did is went to the location window, and in the area that you make it play the music, I put a conditional with globals and everything. I think you know what im saying, so when you enter the normal farm, if you havent killed the boss yet, it takes you to the invaded farm. And it worked too... except that when the camera follows the hero's movements, it's all shaky and choppy!! Anyone know how to fix it???
Woah, that was long!

Hi OgreBob! Welcome to the boards!
Anyway, after reading your problem, it doesn't sound like an engine problem at all. It's far more likely to be a RAM shortage. When you run your game, are you leaving it on the default of 60,000 KB? I'd set that to at least 100 MB minimum during the dev cycle, and if that fixes the problem, drop it down by 5 MB increments until you find an optimal amount of RAM.

ok, this is really starting to get on my nerves. I did just like you said, with the memory increase, and guess what... its at 150000 k and it STILL is choppy!!! Plus theres this other location i made and THATS choppy too! AHH! Any other suggestions, please??
P.S. No, I don't have an old computer either.

Do you have a lot of png objects in the farm (like flames for example)? Those tend to really slow down/chop up your game if you have too many.
