Any way to control the fonts and colors of text in coldstone? For most of my games I'd like to use white, blocky text. Any plans to add font controls?

Hello- I'm still diggin around my copy of Coldstone, getting to know the capabilities -- this is a serious piece of software!
My thinking is this should be very possible, as Coldstone lets you edit your game interface...
I'll ask the folks at beenox, and get back to you - s'allright?

Hello- The folks at beenox got back to me on this.
Coldstone takes the default app font (geneva on the mac, arial on windows).
Isn't there anything we can do about this? Default fonts are ug-ly. It is a big drag to spend a lot of effort on a nice interface only to have it uglied up by the text. Do we at least have control over font size?
Thanks for your help

Nope - no control over font face, size, or color, same as you can't change the design of those little off-gray buttons that Coldstone uses in shops, inventory, and the like.
I don't know why this feature was omitted - it would seem comparatively simple to implement, and it was specifically asked for several times during the beta. (Wouldn't it be much nicer if PoG highlighted "key words" in a color or different font instead of using that nasty little "(?)" marker?)
...grumble...

Yes...I too am curious why they omitted changing fonts and sizes and the like, but there is a little resource editing tool called "Res-Edit" which might be useful for small little things like radio buttons and such. Although I have not tried or anything, I'm sure you could do a couple things with editing the resources as long as you work from copies and didn't screw around with anything but minimal graphical stuff, otherwise your game or Coldstone program could get really messed up. I'll tinker around and see what I can change, and get back to the board about my finds...til then....

I don't think ResEdit can do much for Coldstone games, as Coldstone bypasses the standard Macintosh (and, for that matter, Windows) interface system and implements it's own cross-platform interface, without using resource forks very heavily.
