It has been awhile since I have been to this board and I looked through the topics and didn't see any of the questions I want to ask so if this has been answered recently I am sorry.
1. Is there any possible way at all that I can create my own music? Like a music program that I could buy somewhere and could use it for Coldstone. I have always wanted to create my own music and it would be a shame if there was no way to do it.
2. Can you put faces on the top of the boxes when you speak like in Suikoden?
3. Can you have rain pouring down or snow falling in this game?
4. If you stab or swing a weapon at someone in a cutscene can you make them kneel down and have an animation of him/her shaking?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about all of them, but I know that the answer to question 1 is yes. (Although you probably will have to use a particular format.)
Also, in question 4, "in a cutscene"? A cutscene is a quicktime movie, if you want to make a movie where a guy falls to his knees, yes. If you want a sprite, after dying, to fall to his knees and parish, the answer is almost certainly yes.

OK, lets see how much I really know and can remember
Yes indeed. The music in your game is thoroughly customisable, and assuming that you can and wish to, you can put just about any music in your game that you want. Of course, I believe that it has to be in QuickTime format, but that doesn't really restrict you
**2. Can you put faces on the top of the boxes when you speak like in Suikoden? **
Since all of the dialogue boxes (as far as I know) have to be drawn by the game's creators, thus allowing you to customize your look and feel, I suppose that you could put faces on top of the boxes. However, having never played Suikoden, I'm not exactly sure of the comparison. Do you mean that each individual character has their face displayed? If so, I guess you could but it would probably take a while.
**3. Can you have rain pouring down or snow falling in this game? **
Hmm, I don't remember anything about this kind of thing. I'll check the FAQ etc. and then post again.
**4. If you stab or swing a weapon at someone in a cutscene can you make them kneel down and have an animation of him/her shaking? **
Well, since it's a cutscene, I'd assume that you can do anything you want to do. If you mean you attack them in the cutscene, and then they fall down in the game after the cutscene is finished, then I'd probably say yes. You could make an event like that happen after the movie is completed with scripting. Of course, It may just be easier to make them fall in the cutscene, but then your graphics skills may not be able to do it. Whatever works, I suppose!
Hope that helped!

Ok, my additions; 1. As far as I know, MIDI and MOD/MAD music formats are accepted as well as some others. I think that was stated in a recent thread, but I'm not sure which. Anyone know? 2. Most likely. Although, this may or may not depend on how you incorporate talking. 3. You could, with sufficient programming and CPU speed, make a mock-rain/snow/etc. effect. If it is supprted in the engine as one of the features and not as clever programming, I'm not sure. But you could concievably make it happen. 4. If by cutscene you do not mean a quicktime movie, but instead a set of animated sprites, you could probably set an event at the character's/creature's death that removes it's body and plays a set of sprites that looks like that character/creature keeling over and 'shaking'. Although, you'd have to draw each pic of the set of sprites. But really it depends on what you meant by "cutscene", and then maybe by your (or your artist's) drawing skills.
In reply to the snow and rain questions, the FAQ mentions the ability to make birds fly, waterfalls and fires etc through the animation error, so I would assume that you could just as easily make an animation for snow or rain. Just set the background to what you want, and then make the animation. If you really want to be tricky, you may want to cause your character to change their appearance to either snowed on or saturated when entering an area containing rain or snow.

Dee has stated that Coldstone will be able to play back any format Quicktime is capable of playing back. MAD/Player Pro tracker formats are no longer supported.
** 2. Can you put faces on the top of the boxes when you speak like in Suikoden?**
I believe I remember seeing a POTD showing this to be possible.
** 3. Can you have rain pouring down or snow falling in this game?**
I believe so, but I also believe this would be CPU intensive.
