Copyrigyht and Trademark Stuff....

Now, this has probably already been answered, but what will be the case with games based on TV shows, or card games, or other things? Will we have to contact the owner of the thing and buy the right to use it? Or will we have to say that blah belongs to blah? Will ambrosia take care of copyright issues? Plz reply. 😉

Does anyone here know about how much a creator would charge for permission? Anyone?

Not offhand, but I can be certain of three things in this regard:

  1. It will seem insanely expensive to you, since you have to ask the question in the first place.

  2. It will vary according to brand, lawyer, time of year, and popularity of the particular brand at any given second.

  3. Whoever owns the copyright will likely want dictatorial control over the end-result. This will result in meetings and consume enough of your time that you could have come up with something original with less hassle.
