Music For Coldstone Games

I've written usic specifically for use with Coldstone games- boss fights, spooky songs, backgrounds, you name it, it's either in development or done already. If anyone is interested, let me know.

why dont you post some of it, so we can check it out!

if you need webspace, i think mp3.com is still alive and kicking...

Well, I'd love to do that (but I'm internet retarded). I only know the most basic html. I can email you some midi files, though.

I'm interested in hearing it...

I can offer some webspace for it as well, but if it's good enough, I'm not sharing you ;). Seriously though, address is saphfires@hotmail.com. If you don't get a response, it's because I'm outta town. Be back Monday.

I think I already sent you some-maybe not though, cause as I said, I'm internet retarded. And most everything I've got has yet to be fine tuned-it's in what I call the skeleton stage. No meat.

Ladies and Gentlemen, as you know we have something special for you at
Birdland this evening. A recording for Blue Note Records...

Let's take it back to the concrete streets, original beats and real live MC's...

Hey,

I've got a couple songs up on mp3.com, but they're still waiting for approval because I don't want to pay them 20 bucks so you guys can hear my music. I'll post the Address when it's approved.

Hey for all you people out there with no musical talent and/or the time . I have a special treat for you

I found an application called Auto composer and it's right here-----> (url="http://"http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~HB9T-KTD/music/autocome.sit")http://www.asahi-net...ic/autocome.sit(/url)

It works great (mac and pc versions on the site) otherwise ( idon't know the legal half of this) go to (url="http://"http://vgmusic.com")vgmusic.com(/url)

Hey, the stuff on mp3.com is approved, check it out at mp3.com/Evan_Williams There are only two songs there right now (and I have massively re-written them both, but there's still enough to get a good idea.) I recommend the lo-fi 24 kbps versions cause they're only midi sequences anyway.

The legend of Zelda, while a good insomnia cure, is NOT an rpg.

I can tell you about The Videogames Music Archive.

All the midis might have been done by other people, but I am 80% sure that the original companies still hold rights over it. So I wouldn't recommend using VGMA for a "public" game unless you're looking for Amiga music- which I am told is usually safer (seriously, since when do people use the Amiga as an example of good music?). Even then I'm sure thats dodgier than the UK members of parliament.

The best thing is to really compose your own stuff. I learned while using RPG95. it doesn't matter if it's utter rubbish. People will usually like it anyway!

Does Autocome work well under OS 9? It looks like a good way to get some inspiration for musical themes, but when I run it under Classic in OS X, it crashes about 75% of the time. Is this a Classic issue here, or a problem with the app itself?

I have used the auto composer under 9.1 and had no problems. The easy way to test this is to reboot in 9.1 and try it on your system. I use OSX about 90% of the time, but for somethings it is just better to reboot in 9.1.

I'll have to contest that last statement, "homemade is from the heart" doesn't count when it comes to music , there better be a mute feature on CGE...

Besides the music from vgmusic can simply be edited and sampled for a brief 30 seconds editeed further and turned into an independent track ,with some skillful mixing...

I love how you'd go through so much trouble to steal someone else's work.

Just checked this - you're absolutely right. Classic still has a ways to go before it's "just like OS 9." 🙂 I'll have to play around with Autocome some more, plus a MIDI editor, and see if I can come up with some half-decent music out of it.

no, no trouble at all it's called sampling and if you have a halfway decent radio station they do it all the time, 30 seconds of music is not illegal...
Besides when you DJ it comes naturally,
hey if you like making beats to go with the Autocomposer, go get virtual drummer on (url="http://"http://download.com")download.com(/url) .

Hahaha!
I like composing music on my keyboard. It's fun.

And about mixing- I've done it before, but I just find that I always liked the original versions better...
